Torquay United Eastbourne Borough

In the last 5 games away Eastbourne have not conceded a single goal. That has to change today.

A very close battle 1-0 to the Gulls.

Dilmond you say "Playing the bottom teams it's almost a guaranteed loss"

Where is your evidence? We have only lost 5 games out of 29! Come on!!

Maidstone v Torquay Sat 1st Feb 3pm

Our history at Maidstone is dire.

However we do not concede many goals and Maidstone do not score many so this is likely to be a very tight game.

I am going to let my heart overrule my head yet again and go for a 0-1 win for TUFC and a first goal for Manny our new on loan signing from Derby County set up by Matt Jay. COYY

Average attendance

Enzo I can tell you that as I left the Ground yesterday and walked behind Bristows the number of young boys and girls streaming out of the Away End all talking excitedly made me really proud of our Club and the initiatives being used to boost our attendances.

It makes such a diffrence to the Match atmosphere when we fill the Babbacombe End rather than seeing it empty.

Great credit to our New Owners who are getting it right 100% of the time in all areas. It just shows that when you have the right people in charge the sky is the limit.

Matt Jay

Matt Jay had 2 stand out seasons for Exeter City 2020/21 and 2021/22 when he appeared 99 times scoring 36 goals.

Matt is an attacking midfielder and with Matt and Jordan Young we have 2 players of Football League standard who could make all the difference to securing Top Spot. COYY

New Striker Manny Ilesanmi On Loan from Derby County

A big strong lad formally at Harrogate Town.

Lacks experience but could be a right handful for defenders at NSL level. Lets hope so.

Ins and Outs. Our Season to Date

With 2 games to go before we enter the final 3 months of the season how are we doing?

Well after 27 games we have 14 wins, 10 draws and just 3 defeats with 52 points and 2nd place. Would you have been happy with that back in August? Well of course you would.

Paul Wotton had done an unbelieveable job pre season in signing a new squad bar about 3 or 4 players from last season.

Since we played Enfield on August 10th 4 players have gone out on loan Jayden Crosbie to Gloucester City, in December Brad Ash to Bath City and Ben Seymour to AFC Totton and our young Goalkeeper Wonnacott to Plymouth Parkway.

In on loan is Jordan Thomas from Yeovil until the season end. Also on loan is Will Jenkins Davies from Plymouth Argyle. 2 Loanees returned to their Clubs Tonks and Jeffers.

2 players have left Roddy Collins to AFC Totton and Ollie Tomlinson to Bath City.

2 Players have signed from Yeovil Town Jordan Young who is a wonderful player to watch and Dylan Morgan. I believe we paid a Transfer Fee for Young.

So we are down to just 18 players, 1 Keeper, 7 defenders, 7 midfielders and 3 forwards Cooke, Young and Wellington who has yet to start a game.

What does this tell us? Well it is not rocket science but with just 42 goals an average of 1.55 per game we need some more firepower which I feel confident will arrive very soon. It has to.

If you look at the NLS Table the Top 6 teams have averaged 41.16 goals so we are bang on the average almost. Dorking with 55 are way the best for scoring but have conceded 38 to our 25.

I believe our season will depend purely on recruitment and if we come up with 3 or 4 players with the quality of Jordan Young we will be in for an exciting few months. COYY.

No. We have dropped 8 points. 4 against St Albans both draws.

2 away to Weymouth and 2 home to Aveley. So 6 games offered 18 points to date but we only got 10 points.

How on earth did we not win this one. 1-6 if we had been more clinical.

I would love to see the Video of the corner were the linesman said it went out of play thus denying us the winner.

Worthing F C V Torquay United Sat 4th Jan 2025 3pm KO

We have to play to win simple as that.

Remember on Tuesday 11th February just over 5 weeks away we play Worthing away in the League. We do not want to give them the psychological boost of having beaten us today. Play to win as I am sure we will.COYY.
