Woking v Torquay United 3/9/19

brucie wrote: 03 Sep 2019, 22:00 Yes that's what I mean. If we had lost that I would have been gutted.

We had our biggest central defender missing. Had to play an inexperienced 19 year old centre half. Key player in Opi Edwards missing. Then we have lost our two best midfield players during the game and it seems that Asa Hall was struggling with a knock picked up during the game as well.

Given that we should have been in the lead by half time by all accounts we could quite easily have folded but deservedly came back to get the draw. Who said this young team hasn't got character.

Once again we have given as good as we have got against another of the supposedly best teams in the league away from home. If we get everybody fit we will be more than a match for anyone in this league.
I agree with brucie

Happy with that, a good away point against the league leaders.

Torquay United v Eastbourne Borough 13/4/19

What a great day, I was up in Bristow's bench with the wife and three year old. Great atmosphere and although we didn't play to our best it was a fairly standard victory in the end. I though the Eastbourne keeper was the stand out for them apart from a couple of dodgy kicks. I'll be buying my tickets for Easter Monday that's for sure. Sky bet have already paid out on my 25/1 bet to win the league so all in all it's been a good day!

TUFC Fans Banned?

Yorkieandy wrote: 08 Apr 2019, 09:07 Ridiculous statement.

How do the players know that loads of fans suddenly running onto the pitch unnanounced isn't going to lead to some idiot wanting to have a pop?

Especially in this current climate of incidents.

Ban them all. They ignored safety advice, it's against the law and they're all feckin idiots.
I think the announcement was the 90th minute equaliser.

What low hanging fruit is there at TUFC?

When I was a youngster in the 70's, for a couple of years I lived in Wimbledon who were still a non league club. Before the start of the season they would go around all the local schools and give out free season tickets for kids to use provided they were accompanied by a paying adult.
Seems like a good way to attract potential future fans.

£20 - £30K apparently or free if you have a friendly police force.

culmstockgull wrote: 26 Jan 2019, 22:29 So, if I understand the comments correctly the area in front of Bristows will never be up to much due to the design of the stand, now there are situations which you can rightly say are never going to change and they are out of our control, this is not one of them, their is a video on youtube about the courts at Wimbledon where the use of industrial daylight, heat lamps can make grass grow in 48 hours with the bonus of drying out the ground, I know our grass is probably the wrong grass but it must be worth investigating.
I've seen these lamps in use at a premier league club, it does the job but looks very expensive. Maybe that's why we don't have them.
