The housing market is notorious for its ability to fluctuate.MarkL wrote:Lets face it, the club isn't worth anything to anyone other than the fans. Investors will pay for a profit-making venture, all the others go for a pound. A piece of land is worth something to a property developer (GI), the football enthusiasts (unless very rich) won't pay at all.
If the fans buy it then there is no way someone will outbid us unless the council give the go-ahead to sell Plainmoor. Don't get too excited about the 'detached house' quote. Something is only worth what someone will pay for it.

I agree, he has always struck me as someone who thinks everything is all about him and, looking at the turnover of his companies, I don't think he and the Roberts's would have the funds to maintain the club - hence probably why he wants to go into partnership with TUST.Southampton Gull wrote:Colin Authers is a muppet. He's been trying to open talks with this board since their initial split with the Roberts. I'm amazed they still allow him to spout their names each time he launches a new attack. He doesn't have any financial backing and has been consistently wasting the time of the current board. He might be using the TUST as leverage but he has no interests but his own at heart.

Players fund
And what of the season ticket money?PhilGull wrote: So we seem to be none the wiser following the AGM. You seem to have a lot of insider knowledge, care to share? Why has Nicho's remaining budget been taken away? Who has taken it away? Does this mean he no longer has access to the Player Fund? If not then what is happening to all the money being donated?
*I am of course not expecting any answers as I suspect your "fact" is actually just presumed bullshit.

They wouldn't be able to do that without the consent of the Cary Estate and assistance from the council.PhilGull wrote:The conspiracy theorist in me says that with no players or coaches on the payroll it will only take a few quid to make the other staff (tea lady etc) redundant and GI have some real estate to sell and make a profit on! Byrne also had connections with Plymouth when Sturrock was first appointed in 2000.Kit_robin wrote: Not sure about that sturrick had reasonably strong links with us whilst Hargreaves was in charge, and itnwouldnt surprise me if a sturrock endorsement helped harrop get the job.

I think they must have got Harrop confused with Dave Byrne, who had previously worked with Sturrock at Swindon.PhilGull wrote:So Sturrock got Harrop the job at Yeovil. Will Harrop reciprocate and bring Sturrock to Torquay?

Boreham Wood v Torquay
When they played a midweek home game against Lincoln earlier this season, and there were marginally more away fans there than home fans.Neal wrote:Boreham Wood average about 300 home fans maybe less!
Bloody hell how do these teams compete with attendances like that, must have a wealthy owner.
I think their link-up with Arsenal, which sees them host Arsenal Ladies and Under-21 matches brings in some extra revenue for them.

tomogull wrote:Oh Forever - please don't list our scorers !!! Top scorers Dan Butler and Andre Wright with TWO apiece !!!! We now have plenty of midfield cover, although I'm sorry Verma is sidelined at present, and so I'm with you that Nicho should leave himself out of the line up and Butler revert to left back. I also agree that Harrad & Wright should start up front. Harrad's experience could work well with Wright. I don't think Nathan Blissett is going to add much to the squad. This is a big match but it is also a big match for Boreham Wood so they will be well up for it ...... I really wouldn't like to make a prediction on this one.
Wright has scored four if you include FA Trophy goals and Dan Butler has scored three on the same basis.

Not entirely sure, but he did score in a penalty shoot-out on his senior professional debut - so would seem to suggest he has plenty of character.Dazza wrote:Is Allen a defensive or attacking midfielder does anyone know. ?

Scott Brehaut wrote: The issue isn't "osterity measures" (sic) but that the results are not working out on the pitch. The Board have made mistakes (and they are aware of that), but cutting back on certain areas, and removing others altogether, has ensured that the club still exists today.
The times of throwing good money after bad, like Thaea was doing, have gone and we all have to accept that.
I had a blowout on here yesterday, mainly because I was having a sh*t day at work, felt like I'd been hit by a 10 ton bus (cold) and was getting more and more irritated by what I was reading. Having taken a step back from it all, and also having had a bit more sleep, I realise that I was a bit hasty in some of my comments - certainly those aimed at Steve Breed - and, whilst I won't be deleting or amending the comments (I think that would be wrong of me to do so), I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to Steve, and the rest of the Board, for some of my more personal comments yesterday that were said in the heat of the moment - and no, before anybody thinks this, Steve has not been in contact with me about this.
As for you "George", it would be best if you simply deleted your account (again) and not bother coming back. You and your mates have made your decision - thankfully it was to leave us alone - so maybe you could now do just that.
Or perhaps it should be 'austerity' even!
