Squad 2024/25

portugull wrote: 06 Jun 2024, 20:54 The 9 players signed up including Austen Booth and Finley Craske have an average age of 24 with Threlkeld at 30 the oldest followed by Collins at 29 and Hamon at 28.

Very good progress this week with building a new team. I hope Dean Moxey signs and Brad Ash. Ollie Tomlinson needs a very good coach and Paul Wotton could be the man to fix his game.
YEs, would hope we get Moxey and Ash, Tomlinson less so but hes still a project. Am enjoying the social media, getting hooked on mid afternoon breaking news on players ive never heard is entertaining and the theme tune - club should add it to the pre or mid match play list. Jimmy Ricks - Oh What a feeling.

Needed a clear out for the culture more than anything else. Not disapointed in the list, but like others,I liked Archer having seen his debut at Havant. He will come good somewhere and seem to recall he had a very good game v Truro / Wotton when he came on for big Duane and his attempt to scupper our hopes by trying to get sent off within 15 mins of the game starting.

Be pretty difficult to be worse than last year, didnt we concede the third highest amount of goals.

Bryn Consortium Take-Over

culmstockgull wrote: 01 May 2024, 19:08 So everyone who say donates 100 pounds for a bond/share in the TUST offering it is a very slim to nothing chance you would ever see that money again as your share is 1 in 1500 of slightly less than 15 per cent of the shares available.
Ive been attending since the 80's on the understanding that Torquay United arent very good and very unlikley to win their own league let alone the Champions League but I still go. On a similar theme. Id be prepared for a £500 share now and another £500 later based on TUST's original comms and know none of it is coming back. Its an emotional investment. I think theyd get the 150K no problem. Been a TUST member for must be 8 or 9 years, never been to a meeting , barely read their frequent updates, but know some form of organisation is needed for when it all goes tits up. It may not be this time that TUST is needed / invited as they wernt mentioned yesterday but they probably will be at some point in time. They, the fans, are the backstop and the only people in the fan base who have got themselves organised. As others have said, if you dont like their view or direction, join and stand for election.

My lad reckons he wishes Torquay all the best and acknowledged he was not great this season. I wish him all the best in his new career whatever that may be. He will miss the Nippy Chippy in Bisop on a Tuesday night!!!
Good luck to him in whatever he does. If your heart isnt in it, crack on and do something else so kudos to him for being brave to change direction.

Bath City v Torquay United Sat 13th April 3pm

Disappointing game. We were poor but Bath were not much better and had we upped it 10% we might have got something. I got to the game late and didn’t realise the lack of a subs bench. If they can somehow raise their game for one of the two matches remaining we might have a chance to stay up but it’s all very depressing and this club needs a total clear out. Players look uninterested but I have some sympathy when your hard efforts are being undermined by lack of professionalism (further 1pt deducted). If my employer acted in the same way I would probably think sod this too. I’m out.
Fans booing the players knowing everything that has gone on this season are frankly idiots.

What on earth does George Edwards see in TUFC other than a big hole to sink more money into. Council position clear on the ground, fan position quite clear in being anti. That would have to be some spin job for him to take over and win anyone around anytime soon. Fans are fickle of course, put a winning team on the pitch.....

Will put my £500 aside for a few more years then.

Full time V Part Time

This is a crapiest team in the history of TUFC period and we still get average 2400! Thats staggering. People are creatures of habit and if they see effort being put on the pitch they will go every other Saturday . Part time WSM were pretty good to watch for large parts of that game yesterday and weve been outplayed by multiple part time teams all season.

TUFC needs a reset, if its part time, so be it.

Interesting timing of the club statement but Edwards still involved is he? Fishing for the others to put up or shut up perhaps. At the very least it looks like there is an option to stay in this division combined with a couple more wins rather than phoenix and lower down.
They’re going to get £500 of my dosh at share issue and another £500 if they go the full 100%. Been a TUST member for years and know very little about the board or those involved but they are the ones that took action, got themselves organised, built the membership for just this event and I could care less what business acumen they have (because very likely they will have people from all walks of life) and I’ll take a punt to save our club. Maybe this will be the only serious bid but ill equally welcome no TUST involvement if it meant the club was still there.
Time to out your shoulder to the wheel skeptics!
