Maidstone v Torquay Sat 1st Feb 3pm
Ive been four times to Maidstone and dont think ive ever seen a win or draw. Combined with the fact its a pretty awful place and the away end has moved to a worse location in the ground means im staying away for this one.
Becauses im not going, Gulls to snatch and grab a 1-0 away win.

Slough v Torquay Tues 21st Jan 7:45pm
Pure speculation and utter nonsense. I saw a team (I also went) that dominated the first half and didnt perhaps create enough good chances that we might have expected from that domination. I saw something similar on Saturday but we created the chances then and didnt take them. I then saw some key players being withdrawn (injury) and we handed back the initiative to Slough. Given where we have come from a few months ago, and the current player rosta, i think we are slightly punching.
People in uproar becuase we drew a game (that we probably deserved to draw based on the second half) and lost top spot is laughable as is the euphoric nonsense when we got to the top last month. It doesnt matter until the end of April.

Young - by a country mile
Mussa - not sure why hes getting slated elsewhere, was ok
Threkeld - before he went off and we then fell apart.
Foulston - also notable when he went off

Something wrong in the dressing room? Rubbish. These are level 6 players in a regional league, there is a reason they are at this level!

Champions would have found a way to win at least one of the last two games. I thought the late Moxey effort might have showed that but our non champions level showed itself in the last seconds. We’re not there yet, I think we are 2 or 3 players short for that but the team is evolving and certainly better than the one that started the season. Others are improving too though.

Agree, we are in a great position but it wouldnt be a total disaster if we didnt. I didnt say it would be better, need to read the comment.

Wouldnt be a disaster if we didnt go up. Feelgood factor is back, crowds are significantly up, team is committed and slowly changing. Its not lost on me that Yeovil crowds are down this year as they enjoy mid table, cant be lost on the ownership too. Who doesnt like going to these places for a day out pretty assured that your team is going to be on top and the away following substantial. Had a great day out at Chesham (wernt really on top to the 10 men!) St Albans, Hampton, Enfield....looking forward to Chippenham, Chelmsford, Dorking....
We are currently exceeding start of the season expectations which i would have thought were 'get us in the play offs'

Didn’t turn up 1st half,St Albans scoring with their only attempt. Really really poor. 2nd half (when WJD and Morgan rightly taken off) we were better with Mussa and Young our better players. Scored with the softest of penalties when it was slightly shocking the ref gave it, scored again from a corner but it had seemingly gone out of play from the kick so disallowed. Had a period after that for 10-15 mins when we should have scored again with the goal living a charmed life and the ball hitting the bar and post on separate occasions After that and the last 10 it was pretty even and we rarely threatened. This result really came about from not being at the races for the first 45. At least we didn’t lose. My first visit to St Albans and will enjoy coming back next year if we don’t make it. I bet it’s nicer in the late summer, spring time though! Freezing today!

Worthing F C V Torquay United Sat 4th Jan 2025 3pm KO
Whilst the competition is pretty meaningless (to me) and I’d have taken 3 points a few days ago and next week over a result today, putting a team out with no striker and getting pumped isn’t what was required. Feel for those who travelled today. We don’t like cup ties and haven’t for years, we don’t really like playing on artificial despite training on it. The only good thing may be a kick up the backside like the FA Cup a few months ago gave us.
