Re: Wingers
i would disagree - "Relatively poor" - I would be leaving the "relatively" out of that description.

Re: Falkirk Fan Re Olejnik/Tam McManus Striker
His brother Mick wasn't a bad player, Always giving cheap fouls away though. Wouldn't stop wrestling his opponents.

Jake Thomson is actually a better winger than anyone we have got though - and thats saying something.

Re: What price Zebroski?
Tg2yellow - your message above is complete and utter tripe. Zebroski may not be the greatest goal scorer in the world but he is a decent player. Ridiculing him for shooting over the bar in a friendly is just complete nonsense, especially when our forward line currently consists of bill bunter, nanny mcphee and typhoon adieooooo, a player who is so bad he has been released by nine clubs - he's almost up to jack, queen, king.
Still Ling is talking to a forward to do - our next signing has surely got to be something decent, or maybe not......

Re: Is patience wearing thin
Why on earth do you think Buckle is not going to get a play off spot - just have a look at the players he has signed. This is league 2 for christ sake. He is bound to get them in the top seven.

Re: Robertson next for transfer list
happytorq -are you in a friggin dreamworld or what. Buckle has a squad that will walk this league. I don't like it anymore than the next man - i hope the slimey little **** falls flat on his arse. But the plain fact is staring you right in the face - with have a completely crap squad - Buckle has a dream squad.
That = promotion for Bristol Rovers and relegation for us unles Ling, the board, Kendo Nagasaki or some **** gets out and signs a couple of players who are going to keep us in this league. AND THERE ARE NO SIGNS OF IT HAPPENING !!!

Re: Is patience wearing thin
Lets hope that Ling has not come to the end of his contact book. Mcphee (lives in Torquay so that one was obvious). Saah (lings lovechild) Leadbitter (hmm) Keeper (no idea) Stevens/Oastler (nobody else wanted anyway).
If thats it we are fecked.

Re: Bristol Rovers Away Game (Yellow Pride!)
Brave talk but unfortunately you lot cannot get on the pitch to play. Buckle is going to shaft us right up the arse in this game.
Men against boys. I fear a cricket score.

Re: Thanks for nothing Zebroski
The thread is a load of nonsense to be honest. Zebroski does not give a flying **** about Torquay and neither does Buckle. Just get over it.
The bottom line is that whatever you think about his off field issues Zebroski gave his all on the pitch for Torquay.
And thats the sum total of it.

Re: Tough job for Ling
Robertson can quite happily **** off as well - Ellis is in any case a better player. Ling has an incredibly tough task but he knew that when he took the job.
Obviously we don't know what the squad will be like when we start but if lined up now I honestly think we would struggle to stay in the conference with what we have at present.

Re: Tough job for Ling
This isn't a knee jerk reaction. It isn't "unfair" as you put it. You are in complete denial if you think our current squad will get off bottom place this year.
Read Gulliballs excellent post.
I don't feel sorry for Ling. We don't need to wait fifteen games, four wil be enough. If w3 have ONE point on the board we will be lucky and our goal difference will have taken a fearful hammering.
The Bristol Rovers game is going to be an embarassment of epic proportions. Stanley,Gill,Carayol,Zebroski,Harrald against Stevens,Macklin,Oastler,Rowe-Turner and Mcphee.
The idiot who said wait till august and play some football is away with the fairies.
I would estimate that we need five decent league 2 standard players and that will just be to stave off relegation. It just ain't going to happen. Ling has not got a hope. He only got Mcphee because he lives in Torquay - if thats the best we can do we are up shit creek without a paddle.

Re: What price Zebroski?
You do wonder whether our esteemed board of directors have any backbone whatsoever. Look at Plymouth they are completely **** yet sign Liam Dickinson today. Now he is a decent striker. What we need is a signing or two who are going to make us look like a team but is it hoing to happen? - is it ****.
This would be a joke if it was funny.

Re: like for like then
i just don't see how anyone can be at all optimistic with the squad we have. As has been said by teeboo it was patently obvious that our squad was painfully thin, and that was with the likes of Stanley,Zebs,Branno and co.
We our now faced with the like of Macklin,Rowe-Turner,Stevens and Mcphee being regular first teamers.
We look to have the worst squad that we have had for donkey's years.
If we avoid relegation with what we have got this year Ling should get manager of the year.
Don't see the point of building a new stand - ok i appreciate things might be tight but it seems like our board don't even have any ambition to keep us in this league.

Re: good morning
Well I will guess the next signing. He will be a dwarf who has been out with a knee injury for 2 years and has no league 2 experience whatsoever.
