Talking Torquay

The next podcast of Talking Torquay has been released in to the wild.

This week, Ryan and I can finally talk about a win as we talk about Sutton, argue over the pronunciation of Guy [French striker] and discuss Paul Sturrock's offer to help our ailing strike force.

midtable wrote: 17 Nov 2017, 22:10 Perhaps you have done a 1 minute podcast saying why you could not do a podcast this week or even mentioned it here. My money is on one of you going to Ibiza or a gaming conference.
An excellent idea! If we had thought about it we would have done exactly that! We just posted about there being no podcast this week on our own various social feeds, apologies if you missed the message.

If you think one of me or Ryan has gone to Ibiza then you really don't know either of us! :~D

Basically, I was dreadfully ill this week and the thought of cold-sweating my way through a podcast wasn't a good one. Normal service will be resumed next week!

Really enjoy podcasts myself and just to plug a podcast completely off topic that I love listening to on SoundCloud is called the retrohour. Which is two guys called dan and ravvi who talk all stuff retro gaming which is a passion of mine aswell as torquay united gossip past and the present.
Friday night games and first experience is stuff has been talked about on the new history section Louis has added on here. When I get time I've some stuff to post on history section. I actually just about remember the Saturday night games which got banned after the wolves yobs in 1986.
I'm partial to the gaming community... I'll check it out!

And thanks so much for taking the time to listen to our podcast!

Talking Torquay

Hello all

You've probably seen my slyly plug the Torquay United podcast Talking Torquay on some other posts so I thought I'd give it a home in this thread.

From now on I'll post links to the podcast on this topic and I'll also post our discussion topics on here so you can all get involved before the podcast goes to air with what you have to say. We want this to be YOUR podcast so the more people engage, the better.

If you're new to the party we're just two Torquay fans trying to create some nice Torquay United content and discuss the issues that are on your mind! We occasionally source interviews with people of note, so have a scroll through the back catalogue if a particular interviewee is of interest.

Episode 15 is here:
SoundCloud - http://bit.ly/2ztua82
iTunes - http://apple.co/2yhIBJ8

This week we talk Friday night football and fans' first matches at Plainmoor. Were you there for any of them? We were a bit young! o:)

Feedback welcome! :scarf:

Torquay United podcasts

Humbled to have our little podcast mentioned on this forum. For those who are interested the latest episode of Talking Torquay is out now and we discuss beating Ebbsfleet, as well as which way we think the Hartlepool match is going. Also features some bad Torquay United Halloween puns.

Can't get the bloody links to work, but paste that in to your browser!

Any feedback welcome, we're just two blokes trying to create something nice for fellow Torquay fans!

Herald Express/Devon Live

Evening all,

Just a note to say that Episode 12 of Talking Torquay features an in-depth chat with Martin Gritton. The interview is at about the 10 minute mark and lasts around 20 minutes. A couple of cracking stories from that promotion season.

Guardian Article On Torquay

That response from the club is frankly embarrassing.

Criticise the article for not giving the club the right of reply, by all means. But that overly-sarcastic and petty tone is completely unprofessional and doesn't paint the club in a good light.

I sense whoever penned that article may well regret posting so hastily in the cold light of day tomorrow morning.

Latest Film You've Seen

Star Wars trailer is dropping tonight at about 2.30 in the morning.

I'm not fan boy enough to stay up for it. But it will be the first thing I see when I wake up in the morning. :)

Quigley and Lavelle-Moore

Hate being one of 'those' people...

But I was slaughtered on here for suggesting that Fisher - Quigley wasn't an effective combination. One goal later and Quigley is off and you're all delighted.

I much prefer Fisher anyway, good in the air and seems to have a bit about him with the ball on the deck. He could well be the key to us having a side good enough to stay up. Just need some modicum of quality around him. Marsh could well be that man; I like the look of him so far.

Torquay United V Woking-Tue 18TH

The link is for 5 things we learnt from Torquay's defeat to Woking

Completely agree with that previous poster regarding Quigley. I just don't know what he offers. He's so immobile and doesn't seem to be winning much in the air. How on earth was the Bournemouth Academy's Player of the Season?!

Mind you, Ashley Barnes was terrible for us and ended up in the Premier League...
