2-1 Dover
Ditto

Would take a draw.

Will the radio commentary be available online?

Macclesfield Town v Torquay United Tuesday 25 November 2014

Worrying how much Young carries this team. Best player going forward and getting back on Tuesday. Our season pretty much hinges on if he plays well. Can't help but think Cameron needs to be dropped. Hasn't offered anything for a while now. Also seems like Richards hasn't recovered since he was thrown under a bus at Alfreton. Like many have said, we've got a young squad and confidence/momentum is a bigger thing for us than for most other teams. Was hoping Barnet would be a turning point as such but apparently not. Briscoe is frustrating... A really good player when he's on the ball and causes plenty of problems but can only last until 60 minutes in. As for Benyon, Christ. Talk about flogging a dead horse. What does Yeoman need to do to get a game? Or is he out on loan to Truro/Bideford/any other Devon team again? On the plus side, Berry is a really good player. Do we have him permanently now? Hope he's not just playing well to put himself in the shop window.

Good performers:
Young
Berry
Downes
Ajala

All in all, if I had to guess where we'd finish this season, I'd say just outside the play-offs. Enough about us to win most games but not good enough to close out 1 goal leads.

Pearce, Downes or MacDonald

Sunnysideup wrote: Was he? In a team where no one (apart from Ricey, and Marquis maybe in the few games he was here?) performed well with any consistency, to say he was one of the "better" players isnt the same as him being "really good". He was just as capable as any of the other defenders at playing the ball to an opponent, missing headers, poor positioning etc etc
Was being sarcastic. MacDownes are the real deal, not sure what everyone sees in Pearce. The myth that he's better than Downes (or Mac for that matter) really does baffle me.

Get the feeling that if we'd have had Downes in the team we would've had somebody sorting the defence out, attacking the ball and preventing the flick ons which Alfreton profited from so easily.

Pearce, Downes or MacDonald

CP Gull wrote:Downes and MacDonald for me, regardless of any shortcomings, both play with a passion and desire to win that Pearce has failed to show since being given his chance this season. Not only that but Both, Downes in particular, are also such a threat at set pieces.
But Pearce was really good last season and apparently that's all that matters?

Alfreton Town v Torquay United – Saturday 11th October 2014

Harding has played however many games but he's a central midfielder. Hutchings for me, centre back by trade, sink or swim time for him. Eagerly anticipating what type of mistake Ricey will make as he always seemed to do so on TV. I'll say he gets nutmegged.

Rice
Tonge Pearce Hutchings Cruise
Ajala Wakefield Young Briscoe
Bowman Ofori

I think we'll lose 2-1 because of missing MacDownes and Hawley is obviously going to score.

Pearce, Downes or MacDonald

Bigman wrote:I haven't seen Pearce this season, but would go with the other two simply because they were the partnership when we had our amazing run of form. Pearce and Downes were together most of last season and we didn't do well so I'd be concerned their partnership breeds unconfidence (or whatever the actual word for that is).
But Pearce is a bit quicker! We must play him! Can you not remember last season when he was 'amazing'..?

Christ. As if Pearce is voted higher than Downes. What can Pearce do that Downes can't? Downes/MacDonald is a great partnership, amazed at how quickly they seem to be combining

Think because we're missing them we'll lose on Saturday.

Ryan Bowman - SIGNED

He seems like the perfect foil for Yeoman. Those two up front would be class. Always thought a target man should be our priority considering how important Sills was for us.

Torquay Fixtures for 2014/2015

Anyone heading to Chester, Southport or Halifax away? They're the main ones for me at the moment. Looks like some of the weaker teams at home first, need to try and get some home form going early on.

Southend United V Torquay United 29/3/14

Travelled down from Preston yesterday and have never been more frustrated. Missed the first five minutes because parking was awful.

How does Hawley start and Yeoman doesn't?

Subs were made too late. Brown is right. If we played like we did after conceding for the full 90, I reckon we get a draw there. This 'counter attack' approach we seem to be going for is double w**k and s**t chips.

Does anyone have a full list of players we'll have under contract for next season?

Who's going to Southend?

This is a long shot (almost a goal kick) but I have a free train ticket going down to London Euston for this game (departing from Preston at 6am) if anyone wants it. My mate was using it but he can't go anymore. Bought for £17 but if anyone wants it they can have it.

Hoping that if Harding starts tonight he's a completely new player because in August/September he was a passenger in every single game he played. Think we'll get a draw tonight. Any news on if Stockley is back in the team?
