Re: injuries

Good news if Billy is back but please Mr Ling dont dont resort to the easy option of 4 1 4 1 using Lathrope. I am sure Howe works far better with a 4 4 2 otherwise he gets isolated, very very frustrated and then gets booked or worse still.

For that reason alone Mr Ling please use someone up front with him otherwise we may well have no striker and no experienced centre half if it gets heated in one of the derbies.

Re: Barton and Fleetwood

Thanks for that so far;I just dont get it though; surely a 12 match ban is just that even if he wants to play for Harpenden Colts Tornadoes; my son would 'ave him tho!
If 9 matches are Premier add ons then change the rules quick

Barton and Fleetwood

Watching Sky Sports News and the inference is that Mr J Barton may not just train with Fleetwood Mac but may play for them to get round his 12 match ban.
How is this possible and I dont imagine we want to play a team bolstered by a thug on out first outting in the FL?

Re: Torbay Council planning to restrict parking around Plain

We are talking about a Council so useless they put Parking meters up on Newton Road where there is virtually nothing down there apart from the Hospital and a few garages...
and
We are talking about a Council so useless they put the pay station for the ERIC in such a place that you have to stand in the road to get a ticket!
and
We are talking about a Council so useless they spend huge amounts of money on a new junction at Tweenaway which spends most of its time with lanes closed and results in worse traffic queues than before
and
We are talking about a Council so useless they build death traps at traffic lights that go from 2 lanes to one in a a few feet which ignore the basic rules on traffic priority and allow the self important tw@ts to cut the rest of us up
and
Please can we have a new centre half

Re: Torbay Council planning to restrict parking around Plain

I come down to Torbay probably 15 times a year and I must admit to being surprised that there is a Transport Planning Group; there is certainly no evidence of that in the road system that purports to serve the bay.
I used to work on the Football Specials in the 60s and 70s from Brixham so how about parking 10-15 park and ride buses around Cary Park during match times; engines running and lots of shunting back and forwards ; cars might be welcomed back with open arms!

Re: Hereford United v Torquay United - 5/5/12

Please lets pull one out of the bag this afternoon; we will grace league 1 and maybe get beaten more than we win BUT Crawley and Southend are the 2 teams this season who have cheated their way to where they are. The level of play acting from both would have made Simon Callow blush.
Time for Eunan and Lee and Danny to push their game to the limit and beat Hereford into the BSP ................................COYY

Re: AFC Wimbledon v Torquay United - 21/4/12

Managed to get into the ground yesterday thanks to a very nice womble and a spare ticket.
I wish I hadn't bothered.
I know its probably because a small squad is tired but wow that was dire. Even more dire than last week and certainly worse than Barnet.
Maybe Bobby is tired and forgot the rules of a back pass.
Maybe Nico is tired and forgot to defend his bit of the pitch where both goals came from; oh and put some useful balls into the area .
Maybe Danny forgot to act like a winger and create forward not backwards and sideways movement
Maybe Morris forgot that kicking the ball over the white line scores goals; and also being his height maybe winning a fewballs in the air
And maybe a few of the team could remember that with a less lenient referee one or twos seasons would have been over
A game to forget; but what a c**p timeof the season for some of the players yesterday to forget what we were all there for.

Re: Buckle for Luton

But isnt that just the point .....PB's arrogance will continually be his undoing. Yes he does have coaching ability and he could certainly outhink a fair proportion of other team's tactics given the team that he had. But when the chips are down (as they rarely were in his TUFC days......few months in the BSP maybe) he reosrts to blaming every one except himself.
I was talking to a clued up,placid intelligent PE master this morning who is also a Rovers supporter.................and the conversation degenerated into a vile viscious condemnation of PB.............honestly I wouldn't wish him onto Luton.

Re: Buckle for Luton

Luton have an amazing fan base for a BSP club; we went to see Luton play in the preseason friendlies and they had over 5000 on the evening we watched them play Palma so you can understand by that scouser has gone with the resources he has.
I am sure PB could spend all of their money on creating a new team that doesnt gel buying from Rovers, then p**s off all the current LFC players and isolate the non- believers...................... then fail to get them anywhere near the playoffs....................................hope you can see where I'm going with this.

Re: Barnet v Torquay United - 30/3/12

Son and i went last night for our annual league visit to Barnet; tho we often go there to watch Arsenal reserves when they play someone decent.
I had built O'Kane up to my son but he was kept quiet and with Mansell and Lathrope being kept busy the normal passing game was rarely there.
When the passing game worked Barnet looked like the BSL team they are trying to be but it was worrying that the hoof n'hope seemed to really test our centre backs so much.
With Jarvis looking lost it was left to Danny and Howe to provide any attacking outlet and I thought they both did well. Sitting behind the goal area you could really appreciate the stunning skills needed to execute that chip ; fantastic.
Penalty; yes but I thought Olejnik had the shot covered to the post; a few more looks at replays may confirm or deny this.
In terms of possession and skills we won it hands down ; hope the results today go for us.

Re: six days left...

I have a friend who is a Reading supporter/employee and he knows that Eunan has been watched by them BUT of course all of a sudden there may be big money in the coffers at Reading so bringing on a talented youngster may not be part of their plans now if you can buy expensive experience to ensure they get promoted.

Re: Nathan Craig

I dont understand from the 'triallist' status as to whether he can play league 2 games;can he be in the squad for tomorrow, has he travelled, might he play? Having said that it would be sad to knock Steven's confidence whe he has started to show real form and composure but Craig impressed a few people in the reserve fixture.
