Re: Alarm Bells - Eunan to Crawley

Yes 175k is a piss take, but how much did we pay for him when he joined...................nought. So as an investment its pretty damm good...but why Crawley..come on Evans put in a late bid and all will be forgiven

Opening of Bristow bench

What with 898 views on the Leeds Friendly, shouldnt we have a few on the match that offically opens our new stand ;-)

How many stoke fans are we expecting? Plus are we expecting a full house from the mighty yellow army. I would imagine that no seat should be empty in the BB for this match. My family holiday in Torquay ends on the Monday, I am tempted to extend it to Tuesday before the long journey back to the North West. Surely a premiership side is more appealing than Leeds, but as Warnock has good connections it is a tight call. :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

Niall Thompson

According to twitter Nial has signed a pro-contract. Having seen the fa cup youth match against Man utd, he was quick and full of energy, he is certainly one for the forward, nice one Mr Ling

Re: New Signing - Ryan Jarvis --- Merged Thread

28 days? Give him a week tops to decide, we gave him a chance and he should respect that, 28 days could see many potential signings signed up

Well done York City

Congratulations York City.

Re: Successful season?

Without doubt a successful season. 19 teams out of 24 finished below us. Teams on big budgets did not perform, likes of Rotherham, Bradford, Bristol for example and little Torquay went into the final match with a chance of getting automatic promotion, if only Crewe hadnt scored that equaliser, just what would have happended at Hereford?

Re: Successful season?

There are 14 league 2 clubs that began the season wishing they where in our position(excl top 3) so yes in that respect we had a great season, but had 1 of those chances in the 1st half gone in???????

I think with the right signings; whilst not losing everyone, we can push up from play off's to 8th or 9th again.
Would do if I knew how

Where will we finish next season

Well we got beat tonight, unlucky really. Plenty to look forward to really. So what are our aspirations going into the 2012/2013 season:

Champions?
Automatic Promotion?
Playoffs?
Relegation?

For reference I have left out mid-table as we dont do that

Gutted, but ffs we didnt deserve to lose tonight, personally hope chelts go up as Crewe is local to me, but hey 6th and 7th place are in the final, the joys of the playoffs! :scarf: :scarf:

Typical Torquay

Blowing automatic promotion, losing the 1st leg with a whimper...well most teams/fans would start putting nails in the coffin and look forward to next season, BUT this is Torquay always expect the unexpected. Everyone has written us off and this is where we thrive, I honestly feel we will do it on Thursday. We need Danny Stevens running the flanks like a whippet, please play atieno/jarvis up front and lets get behind the lads. This scenario is identical to what we did to Shrewsbury last year. COYY    Anyone share my thinking?

Stoke_Gull wrote:Personally I would have rather played Crewe. Possibly because Gresty Road is only 15 minutes drive away, well definetly because of that actually and because I thought we made them look very ordinary when we played them at Plainmoor a couple of weeks back, they didn't threaten the goal all that much and their goal was a result of some pretty sloppy defending and a ludicrous amount of time added on.

However I haven't seen us play Cheltenham this season and I know that we'll give it everything we've got, if that's not enough then so be it but as long as the boys do their very best on the pitch and play as well as I know they can do, I believe we have a real chance of getting to Wembley.
If thats the case save Crewe for the final      :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

In hindsight, thankyou Southend?

Winning at Hereford would have still condemmed us to the playoffs, and lets face it, that would have been more sole destroying winning last Saturday to find it meant nought. So on that basis I was quite pleased to see Southend pip us to 4th place!! I never wanted Crewe in the playoff semi and probably like most of you. So in some kind of strange way losing Saturday(as it would have still put us the playoffs) was not all that bad. I 100% fancy us to progress against Cheltenham, yet had we played Crewe I would not be so confident. I believe the 2nd half at Hereford gives be great confidence and we are due some luck, so why not as Ling states, save the luck and iffy decisions for the playoffs. Do you agree with this or would you prefer to have played Crewe? :scarf:

Time now to come through the next two games with a Wembley appearance and a WIN in that one to finish off the season. :-D
Fair enough we havn't won in last 5 games so that would suggest we are in poor form, just imagine how Wrexham are feeling they finished 17 points ahead of Buckles latest project and got beat? That is harsh but thats the beauty of the playoffs, infact we did it to Shrewbury last year. The playoffs are a lottery, its anyones and form book goes out the window. I take the 2nd half at Hereford as a BIG positive, the game wont be won or lost on Sunday.
