If Pompey go out of business.......

If Pompey do go out of business in June / July when the deadline comes up (again) obviously it will mean only 2 teams will be going down from the Championship. Would that mean Barnsley would go down as the 3rd club, or because the season has already finished the following:

League 1 - Wycombe stay up in League 1 as the team in the drop zone with the most points?

or

League 2 - 5 teams are promoted from League 2, in which case who becomes the 5th team being the play off final would have happened?

Re: Hereford United v Torquay United - 5/5/12

I am not saying anything about what my prediction is, everytime I do it for key games I get it totally wrong.

The bookies and Tipsters however....

Tips:
Southend v Macclesfield = 88% in favour of Southend win
Hereford v Torquay = 100% in favour of Torquay win
Accy v Creepy = 67% in favour of a Draw (the other 33% is for a Crawley win)

Odds:
Southend v Macclesfield = Home win 1/5 Draw 9/2 Away win 8 / 1
Hereford v Torquay = Home win 7/4 Draw 5/2 Away win 11/10
Accy v Creepy = Home win 7/2 Draw 11/4 Away win 4/7

Goal Line Technology

Hi

Not sure if anyone else saw this, but St Mary's (Southampton) have had goal line technology installed as a trial.

From what they had on in the local news, they have 8 cameras all up in the top of the stands facing the goal, along with this tracking camera thing built into the goal post. It is built and designed by the same people who do the cricket and tennis hawkeye technology.

First trials have been a success and the FA who were present seemed impressed with it thus far.

I guess it is now a case of when the ref can and cannot use it. From what was said, it was only going to be introdcued at first to determine whether the ball had crossed the goal line. Going forwards they want to use it for offside decisions and penalty claims.

Personally I think it is a good idea, the game is faster, wrong decisions have bigger consiquences but realistically who is going to pay for it all? Will it be a case of the Premiership have to have it installed and eventually filter down to lower leagues? Also who is going to be the hawkeye decision maker?

Re: Hereford United v Torquay United - 5/5/12

We only need 8 goals + what Crawley score ........... enough teams have scored 7 this season, why not push for 8.

Re: Lee Dunn Video v Crewe. How long was 2ndHalf

Well if we stuck 2 past them then it wouldn't be an issue. It is all swings and roundabouts. How many times have we wanted 4+ minutes on the board and got it due to time wasting.

If only we hadn't drew at D&R, if only we scored another at Oxford, if only if only if only

Let's just hope for Saturday now and move on.

Re: Torquay United v Crewe Alexandra - 28/4/12

What ever happens between Crawley v Hereford, if we want to avoid play offs (never thought I would ever say that) then we have to win on Saturday. We lost our chance on Saturday and as Alex has already said the way we played at Wimbledon I would be suprised if we pick up a point from the next 2 games.

I know we want Crawley to lose to Hereford, but realistically we want either Crawley to win and Barnet to draw, or Crawley to win along with us to win and Barnet to win so that Hereford go down. I don't want to head to Hereford with them needing points. I would rather Crawley went to Accrington needing a win to secure the 3rd spot and for us just needing a win at Hereford. Accrington are the sort of team who will go for a win even though for them it is a fight for 12th.

I am not going to predict anything on this game, I am just going to sit at home with the radio on whilst tiling the kitchen, and hopefully have something to go to Hereford to play for. This is bringing me back to the Southend game, I have all the same feelings and thoughts. Hopefully that is a good omen.

Re: AFC Wimbledon v Torquay United - 21/4/12

Annoyingly Wimbledon didn't deserve the win either, but they had 2 chances and got them on target. There was opportunities to shoot, but we didn't, passing was aweful and there seemed to be no imaginiation in our play. The players got frustrated and then just started the 1980s Wimbledon's style of playing the long ball. Difference is they played 2 or 3 up front.

Promotion of no promotion we should be playing better than yesterday at any point in the season.

Just ask Helen if she remembers me back in her Chessington World of Adventure days. She probably wouldn't, most people tend to forget me.
