Well put, I agree let's look up not down.Taelee73 wrote: 03 May 2025, 18:28 Moron from another club posting about humility, get a life you pleb.
Moron saying move Wotton on, he assembled a squad in one season from nothing, on half the budget of our opponents. His Truro side played the attacking football we all want, but he needs time to assemble that kind of squad. Also no point in saying if only this or that, every other club can say the same, Dorking were 3-1 up against them with about 8 minutes left, so anyone can say ‘if only’.
Fantastic attendance, the atmosphere 10 minutes before kick off was amazing, yes it was really disappointing that the team just didn’t turn up today. Hopefully the supporters will see the bigger picture and keep coming back in numbers next season.
I’d rather lose today than in the final, it gives us an extra two weeks to sort things out for next season.

Torquay United vs Boreham Wood
I agree.knightmaregull wrote: 03 May 2025, 17:17 The players gave everything against a very physical opposition. I personally don't get all this negativity. What a season it's been. Anyone spouting dross such as that we should have pissed the league should go and find a new sport to watch!
Another day we win that. Today we didn't. That happens, take the positives, take a break and get prepped for Buckland away pre season!

That's bonkers, Weston's loss to Truro effectively cost us top spot.Keithsson wrote: 27 Apr 2025, 13:54
Delighted Weston's late charge ran out of steam when it did, a team breaking into the play-offs at the very end in a rich vein of form would've really thrown a variable into the mix.

Who recalls Professor Sir Jonathan Van-Tam who used footballing analogies when at the rostrum with the clown Boris during the lock downs?
He turned out to be a season ticket holder at Boston. Well, we have our own leading light. Yesterday morning, while still in the county on my drive up, I was listening to Radio Devon and they interviewed Professor Sir Ian Diamond who, as National Statistician, is the boss of the National Statistics Organisation. So he was on to explain the various permutations in NLS before the final game.
He was born in 1954 and studied at Torquay Boys' Grammar School having been born in Kingskerswell and moved to Torquay at the age of two. His age means that he must have been there in the junior forms when I was doing O and A levels. He’s an avid football fan, a qualified referee (presumably ‘ex’) and was at Truro in the rain last week to see us win!

Or to turn it on its head, the increased attendances (despite discounting for the community days) have given the board more wiggle room to enable them to bring in the likes of Jay and Zanzala.UnitedinDevon wrote: 22 Mar 2025, 22:02 But your not, you've just decided the reported attendance is wrong

....and our areas weren't so full (which was also obvious).Admiral wrote: 22 Mar 2025, 20:13 I’m not exactly moaning, just stating the obvious. The Wrexham attendance in 2023 was 4,908 (1,258 away) with a packed away end, today was 300 more than that, so which one is wrong?

Fully agree.knightmaregull wrote: 22 Mar 2025, 17:05 Personally I'm not sure it was that close. Bath offered very little and had we not scored when we did, we'd have further increased the tempo to get the goal needed. As it was, they saw the game out well.
I thought Young was exceptional and Zanzala excellent too. Centre backs gave nothing all day either.

Plenty of room on Popside. Family Stand and 'Away End' far from full.

No point in making changes for the sake of it.
He DID use his bench and changed the game when Cooke came on and joined Zanzala instead of replacing him.
