The two teams should be of similar standard but much will depend whether the best anva eleven’s are picked.
We’ll be there. Proper football ground for an away match. Going to be cold.
I went there in the Bryn the Dog season when we conceded late to draw and once for what I think was last game of season with a lot at stake for someone I think.

Truro Away 30th December
Still nothing on tickets for this.
Plymouth Parkway's ground holds 2500 - 3000 (sources vary).
Truro typically get crowds of 250 - including away fans.
Torquay might take 1000 or so.
There would seem no need for segregation.
Yet the delay suggests there are issues to resolve.

Torquay United v Weymouth FC Tuesday 5th Dec 19.45 KO
A deserved win.
Good goals.
Three more injuries to key players is a worry.
Stubbs pulled up running at full pelt right in front of us. I imagine he’ll be out for some time as players aren’t usually stretchered off for a hamstring.
I thought Collins was going to be sent off but maybe the ref realised he’d been conned by their cheating player.
Yeovil have a few difficult games coming up while most of ours look easier so the table could look better for us by January.

Dartford v Torquay United, 25th Nov 2023, 3pm
Very poor today.
Only made one decent chance and that was blazed over the bar with the goal empty.
Much chanting for Johnson to go and a few fans went over to have words from closer.
Fans made it clear that this wasn’t good enough to players at the end.
To his credit Moxey came over and spoke to fans.
Downes wouldn’t come closer than the penalty spot and Johnson didn’t bother at all.
Surely Johnson doesn’t need this hassle. Why not just retire?
I can’t think of another club who wouldn’t have sacked the manager last season let alone this.

Stadium fan ownership
Does anyone really think that if Osborne actually built a new stadium it would be as good as Plainmoor in terms of stadium, location, local pubs, shops, buses, parking, atmosphere etc, - actually does anyone believe Osborne would actually build a stadium at all?
But if he did and it was actually surrounded by all these new income sources who is going to get the extra money? Torquay United for running the club / team /players etc or Osborne?
If we lose Plainmoor it will be the end of Torquay United.

Taunton Postponed?
Taunton’s FA Trophy match at Welling tomorrow has been postponed.
Competition rules say postponed games have to be played by the following Thursday.
As we found with Weymouth, cups take priority in this league.
So looks as if our game at Taunton may be postponed.

Club Statement - 08/11/2023
This is not an uncommon reaction from club owners who have no respect for the fans who challenge their actions or motives.
It is usually counter productive.

Tust meeting.
There has been a great deal of discussion on social media and elsewhere.
Don't trust the club's statement, as it didn't reflect what was said at the meeting.
TUST have issued this statement this evening:
FANS' FORUM STATEMENT
From numerous messages and posts on social media TUST is fully aware of the depth of feeling that the club statement, issued late on Wednesday, has generated.
The statement has sparked considerable local media interest with ITV, BBC - TV and radio - and the Torbay press picking up the story.
In the interests of accuracy and for confirmation at no point did Nick Brodrick, as chairman of TUST, incite or express a desire for any unlawful acts. That the club chose to name Nick as if the ‘ringleader’ was not only potentially defamatory but also inaccurate.
The majority of the meeting was spent discussing the lack of openness and little or no communication between those running the club and the fanbase.
The groundswell of opinion of the meeting was to hold a protest but by doing so not to financially affect the club or players on the pitch. It was decided, by a vote, to hold a peaceful, law abiding sit-in at the end of the home National South fixture with Tonbridge Angels on Saturday December 2 2023.
It should be made clear that whilst the forum was run by TUST, those present/on Zoom, were not all TUST members as it was an open forum. We would, though, like to thank all those fans who have joined as members in the last 48 hours.
TUST would also like to thank the 150 who attended either in person and online and we apologise to those who were ‘locked out’. For the next forum we intend to upgrade to a Business Zoom which will allow 300 to participate online.
We would also like to thank other clubs’ supporters trusts for their goodwill posts showing the solidarity of the football community.
As was said at the meeting, the forum, which should have been set up by the club, is the start of a journey to ensure the future long term sustainability of Torquay United Football Club.

They have shown signs of being improvements but only if we play to their strengths.
Long ball isn't the way to do it.

Fair comment. I had intended to say that missing Halstead, Lapslie & Jarvis was significant.leetufc wrote: ↑08 Nov 2023, 06:46 The comment about Halstead being fit does Lovett a disservice. I thought he had a decent game and one of the few players who came out with any credit - he made some good saves and blocks 1v1s, and it looked like there was not much he could have done with any of the goals.

Well beaten by a better team.
Might have been different if Ash and Marshall hadn't missed good chances, of if Halstead had been fit but I think Yeovil will win this league by a mile.
I'd settle for second and two home play off games for promotion. We really ought to achieve that when you look at the teams above us. We will if we play as we did against Bath but we have to stop losing to the likes of Weston & Hampton.
Obviously a change of manager is needed but that's not going to happen.

An excellent performance today.
It may have helped that without Jarvis as a target we had to play the ball rather than hoof it forward.

Boycott Bath
As I season ticket holder I've paid my money and won't be boycotting.
But nor would I if I had to buy a ticket.
The situation isn't good but a couple of hundred fans not turning up will have no effect.
If they demonstrated outside but didn't go in that might get some coverage but unlikely to have any impact on the club.
And there's no point in demonstrating without putting forward a credible alternative plan.
In terms of this season, it looks as if Yeovil may well run away with the league. Although it's still early in the season we can't afford to lose to them next Wednesday.
I'd be surprised if we don't make the play offs and the way they are set up it would be a big advantage to finish second, with fewer games to play and home advantage.

Turned out t be an easy win against a poor Welling team.
A rare day where we had a good ref and we took a good proportion of chances.
The club were obviously very concerned about the half time pitch protest which was obviously never going to happen.
