GI wont pay up the contracts of those players you refer to.. More is the pity IMO but he can wipe the slate clean with the players and impose his structure .

Torquay United v Macclesfield Town, Match Day Thread 23/9/17
Some fair points i thinkkevgull wrote: ↑23 Sep 2017, 21:07 Stating the obvious I know but here goes:
Reid on the Left is very poor, not fit to wear the shirt.
Anderson at Leftback is very poor, get rid ASAP
Davis on the bench? Is he an expensive ornament or a football player?
Our Lefthand side has been shit for years and I'm getting very pissed off with so called footballing professionals who have overlooked our Achilles heel season after season!
My years of Popside advice would be to:
GET A **** GRIP AND SORT IT OUT!
For me , yes Reid is poor on the left and Anderson is shot of confidence regardless of ability.
Nicho was far from shit at left back although he lacked pace and was vulnerable when exposed but had composure on the ball and decent attacking qualities . The bonus was his striking of the ball at set pieces and leadership on the pitch.
He was more than decent at conference level for us.
We need a decent central midfielder like Dowling who can make things happen no matter what the situation is in a game.
We need players that fit onto a plan than everyone buys into. We just dont have a plan.
Gambling on youth is more viable for us as a selling club to push us on , so trim the squad and offload the deadwood asap or we will be down well before the season ends.

Agree 100 percent with Southampton on this. As for fitness levels potentially being responsible for todays loss . Probably not !Southampton Gull wrote: ↑23 Sep 2017, 14:54 He fulfilled what was requested of him 2 seasons running on a meagre budget. Fitness levels of players is hardly something you're qualified to comment on and pass off as fact and classing him as a poor manager is failing to recognise the qualities he undoubtedly possesses. He managed us at the worst period of our modern history, there are many reasons for that just as there are many reasons why it's unfair to label him the way some have done. Nobody can honestly say how good or bad a manager he is based on his time here, only time will tell us the answer to that one.
The new management duo need time but need a win asap to stop the rot to keep the wolves at bay.

Horsesh.t to blame him entirely. Maybe you forget the current regime we still operate under. Im just saying that if weve pulled out all the stops to get the right man in who has carte blanche ,usually that can do the trick even in the very short term . There is no evidence of that. Given that nicho had 4 games i guess there will be those calling for GOs head week after next if we dont get 3 points on the board eh ?

If Nicho didnt think so much of the club and fans i bet he would be laughing his head off right now. Which given the slagging hes had who could blame him. The bottom line is we are shite, have players no one else wanted bar a few and frankly even if Sir Alex walked through the door on monday morning it probably wouldnt do much good with what weve got.
We need a miracle at the minute , pure and simple !!,,

Late & Injury time goals
Add another one to the tally.StockyGull wrote: ↑06 Sep 2017, 03:55
My guess is that when analysis is done Torquay might be only slightly above average in number of goals conceeded in last minute. My Dad thinks we do it every week but then he forgets when we do it. Don't mind doing analysis myself but not really sure where to get the data.
My guess is that we will be head and shoulders above average for conceeding in the last minute .
Closing games out is as much about mental stamina as physical and we just dont have it.
Another kick in the chops ..........

You call me a fool in another post and write this tripe. We all have relatives with some disability or other but only you seem to find humour in it.
Actually the best thing you can do is not belittle people and use inflammatory remarks about anyone.

On the first point I cant comment as it makes no sense whatsoever !merse btpir wrote: ↑14 Sep 2017, 21:16 The same deluded state of mind that lumbered us with that no mark in the first place!
Nicholson believes that you have to be one of the boys to be a manager; for is own sake he'd better re-assess that pretty darned quick!
On the second I will have to accept that you actually know the bloke personally to make such comments.

Remind me to ask your opinion on anything that requires ONLY a one word analysis Plainmoor78.
I am still fairly sure it wasn't B>llocks that Williams scored against us . In fact it may have happened more than twice. I stand to be corrected with hopefully more than one word !

As certain as it was that Williams was going to score against us last weekend, its is inevitable that Nicholson will be appointed as head coach at Bath , take them into the National league in the next 3 seasons having beaten us home and away , while we slide the other way into the NLS as he waves at us on the way down .
Perhaps someone should do a match day thread of us versus Bath City now in anticipation and be done with it.
This whole debacle has made me so massively pessimistic as we seem to be more or less cursed by the devil (or another demon of your chosen belief).

Management options
Do people just come on here to bicker with one another and generally get peoples backs up ?
Surely wearing the same colours and supporting the same team is reason to get along isnt it.
Its time to show a little humility i think especially when we all feel a bit shi,t about the situation with the club anyway .
