Matt.

I think there is worse in this League than us. Plus wehave plyed 5 of the top 7 including all of the top 3.

Re: Torquay vs Macclesfield Match Thread

Sinclair is awesome when he (1) Gets played up front and not out wide (2) Is playing away and his own fans are not spending 90 minutes shouting abuse at him.

On his day is one of the best around but is a massive confidence player, and spends alot of the season low of it.

Re: Torquay vs Macclesfield Match Thread

Gritton is the type who needs games before the form appears, then he is capable of going on a scoring spree. No striker performs when given the odd 15 minutes every now and again.

After 8 games :?

Your a good team and we stumbled across a win, it happens and no doubt you will return the favour at the Moss.

Re: Torquay vs Macclesfield Match Thread

We still have alot of work to do before we can be contended, plus sorting out of retched home form. But we have now played 5 of the top 7 so we hope we can pick up results.

You were right to be confident to beat us, I was convinced you would win but went down for the crack anyway...the harbourside on friday night was fun. Funny how things turn out.

But you lot should be very confident, your football in the first half was sublime, yea you lost your way in he second but this is League Two not the emirates, I had a pre-season feeling about Torquay and having already seen Vale, Chesterfield, Shrewsbury you were the ones who played like a top 7 side, not resorting to sit back hoofball lik the others.

Re: Torquay vs Macclesfield Match Thread

In the first half you looked quality.

Although I appreciate that losing at home to us is disapointing I think that comments of embarressing and atrocious is a little extreme. Clubs like us regularly beat each other there is no superioty to warrent that kind of reaction. As is with the likes of Barnet, Morecambe etc...

My opinion on Gritton is such...For a start he was not on the pitch long enough yesterday to make much difference, he isnt a first x1 player but very useful to have in the squad.

Ive no idea why the reaction is such, you have a good team who play very good football... you will do very well.

Re: Don't tell me

We were not that good and had you scored first you would have won, We still have much work to do but this was an important 3 points. Performance wise, you gave it to us in the second half by simply disapearing from the game.

Re: Torquay vs Macclesfield Match Thread

Can I just say that you looked very good in the first half and had you scored early no doubt would have won.

Second half you seemed to dsapear and allowed us to slow the game down and play the counter attack game, which paid off.

Seems we were both wrong... Tommy Lee, and the whole passage of play was different to what I remember..

Oh Well, must be my age.

I think Jon Brain had a howler that day, which would be true to form.

TUFC v MTFC- Classic Games

First whch comes to mind is that famous day in 1998 when Torquay had what we had to experienced at Stevenage this year, the first football League game carnival.. And it was a great day with us winning 2-1 with Efe Sodje scoring our first ever League goal.

Who also remembers Paul Wares 30odd yard wondergoal at Plainmoor?, not to mention the 3-3 at the Moss Rose when we were all over you yet you scored 3 within half an hour, which really was a feature of that season until Paul Ince came.

Also the Torquay promotion season with the likes of Tony Bedeau and David Graham, what a side you had that year, if i remember right you beat us 0-2 at the Moss.

Last year though was a little against the usual trend with one very dull affair and the second... well, how many shots on target to only win 1-0??!!
