Best, Worst, and most important games of last season!

For me, the most important win of the season was our midweek victory over Chesterfield when our relegation to the BSP seemed to be a formality. The worst? Too many to choose from. The Best? I can't remember!

What do we all think?

I will almost certainly get accused of sterotyping here, but you had to be there so see how identical they all were

All in their 30's or 40's but trying to look much younger in "one direction" trousers and baseball caps. All with short hair, all just slightly overweight from too much cider, which was a nice addition to the spring air! What was most funny to watch was that they all pretended to look hard by the way they strolled around, but no-one seeme to care much.

Our little group were talking about how we reckon each of them probably has a "dog on a rope" at home, probably still lives with mummy, and clearly from Bristol's poorer areas, which is indead saying something. They are probably all on the booze in the bay now, trying to pick up girls when the only thing they are likely to pull is each other !

We were only a few seats away from the main block of segregated rovers fans and as we looked across it was a massive difference, families sat together, older people, younger people and generally fans with a bit of class.

....I suppose what I am saying, if the rovers fans in the home areas never had any intention of getting tickets in the away end at all, just thought it would be a bit more fun to wind up the home fans and act a bit hard.

....As they purchase another martini for some bimbo, who is never going to go back to a seedy Torbay hotel tonight I would just advise eveyone to let it go, let them have their teenage kicks as by Monday they will be back watching "Killroy" at 1pm in the afternoon, pitbull at their feet...and that sadly for them is how they get their kicks.
Being a gulls fan I've been grumpy for weeks, but that has made me laugh again Mid Devon.

Re: Alan Knill - Thank you

A professional job well done, by a professional person.

Admittedly, and regardless of the outcome, he could not be blamed for the seasons outcome but enhanced his reputation he has.

A big thank you from me for retrieving a situation that would have been beyond many.

Re: Devon Bowl

Hey ho. Worse things happen at sea and I doubt if this result is going to shape our clubs long-term future. Saturdays cup final is far more important for sure.

Re: Any update on Lingy?

How many games have we lost by the odd goal this season? Off the top of my head, quite a few.

How many games did we win last season by the odd goal? Off the top of my head, quite a few.

I may be wrong but margins are slim. Add 12/15 points to this seasons points tally and what could we be dreaming about now?

No doubt a healthy manager getting the most out his players played its part last year.

They call it fate!

Get well soon Martin

Re: Tonight's TeamTalk

For now, the more interesting and far more important words to come from the managers mouth will be his post match de-brief to each of the players. Coz It's gonna take a herculean effort by all to get anything off Southend on Saturday. A team who ripped us apart at Plainmoor earlier in the season. Regardless, It's a well done to the boss from me tonight because whatever he said worked.

Re: The officials

If you are comparing them to others we have had this season, I thought they did OK.

They did not effect the result!

Regardless as to what is wrong with Lingy - and you would be a fool to think its other than something serious - now is the time to rally round.

For us TUFC fans its nothing new, but for Martin it probably is.

Get well soon boss ...

Re: Club statement

I'm pretty sure most lower league 'out of work' managers would jump at this. If things go belly up the blame can forced upon the players/situation inherited, and if things turn out for the better he will be seen as some sort of Messiah with a 12 week holiday at the Grosvenor to boot;

Dear Simon, ...

But on a serious note, get well soon Martin - and I'm sorry Mr Shankly your words don't wash with me - football is not that important.

Re: Benyon Returns

Can someone tell us all how many games he has played in the last 18 months? Not many.

I reckon he will start up front will Jarvis and the most we will get from him will probably be an hour or so.

Still enough time to bag a hat-trick though!

Dream on.....

Re: Benyon Returns

Ditto... I suppose it depends on the Elliot Benyon that turns up!

The free scoring striker sold for 100K, or a journey man pro with only a handful of starts to his name over the last few seasons.

Either way, I welcome his return.

With No Rene and seemingly no new signings, just who will play up front on Saturday?

Someone will have to do it!

Re: LETS FACE IT, EXETER ARE BETTER THAN US!

If they are that much better than us, last nights result must have been a fluke!
Not judging by the performance i witnessed stood on a patio behind the goal :scarf:
