Re: Anyone see a way out of this?

I concour - this group of players will take us down. The body language was evident yesterday. If Mr nil can get at least 3 fresh players in (winger, forward, midfield) it could change - but i have this horrible feeling we are heading to the conference. BTW i am normally an optimist!

PLEASE yellows prove me wrong!!!

Fans getting angry.....

At the final whistle today in The Bench there was near on a punch up between 2 middle aged guys. One guy was shouting real obscenities at the players & manager as they were leaving the pitch, the other guy told him to shut up and get behind the team. The first guy then threatened to punch the other guy's face in and went over to him in a threatening manner.... i really thought it would come to blows but the 2nd guy calmed the aggressive guy down. Incidently Stewards just looked on - which was correct as intervention might have inflamed the situation.
Point is, when fans shout abusive stuff at the players it does no good apart from making the person shouting feel better. I am sure the negativity of some fans is having an effect on our play. I felt like shouting at them mind - but managed to stay calm. However, i can understand the guy's frustration - a lot of our players seem to have given up and are just going through the motions. This should be addressed by Mr Knil ASAP!

Stay calm guys!

Morris is an ok player but has been out all season injured. Craig has played umpteen games and got taken off in every one. Craig's problem is that he plays like his legs are encased in wellington boots full of concrete.
Can't personally see Craig getting another start this season and in my book I am not bothered.
Regarding Mansell - sorry but not the player he was! Lots of endeavour / running/ chasing etc, but passing seriously astray and generally no end product.

Just to let you know that I am part of a bucket collection on Saturday collecting money for one of the Charities I am supporting.
I have a friend who suffers from Prostate cancer and I know of quite a few other people who also suffer from this desease.
I appeal to all you males out there to support this cause as it is one of the biggest killers of us males as for one reason or another we love following our ball games but are embarrased to check em periodicaly.
Fellas we need to take this seriously so please notice yours and check on a regualr basis, but not on the open terrace please. Unless any of our lady followers order you to of course. On second thoughts ladies. don't, it's not a pretty sight.
In all seriousness what do you check for?

Re: Home Games

Our problem at home is giving away silly goals, by defending too deeply and not being offensive enough. Away from home we are pretty sound defensively but cannot score. If we can sort CM out we should be able to win at least 5 of our remaining games.

Re: Drop Rene

To drop our main threat of scoring would be suicidal! He needs service. He is frustrated because he has to drop too deep to get the ball. I am not sure that Benners is the right man to play up top with him either.

Re: Knill 3 games in

Knill is saying to the press he needs players that know this league and how to get results. Young raw talent could be a liability for the fight ahead. I hope that he is targeting our CM positions as priority as Rene & Benners are not getting the service. Too many times our defence minded CM play one pass too many and lose the ball. On Tuesday Rene was clearly frustrated and ended up positioning himself far too deep in order to get the ball! This left Benners isolated at times which does not suit his play.

On a positive note i believe we have one of the best strikers in our league in Rene, also our CD pairing. I think Knill also needs to adapt to a more direct style mixed in the play, will only work if Rene stays in position though. I also question Benners - lots of running and chasing but not productive.

I believe that we should stay up provided we can add 2/3 attack minded players.

Onwards & UPwards!
