Exeter v Torquay 3pm ,sat 2nd August

dannyrvtufc4life wrote:If anyone is confused why Matt has had 7 days to reflect upon, read Dave's original post again.

It was quite clear that Matt didn't say anything racist, but the reason for the reflection was that he "knew exactly what he was doing and got exactly what he wanted turning a matchday thread into a thread on racism." I don't know if that was the case, but that was the judgement of the Admin team and the action of 7 days to reflect upon his deliberate actions has been taken place.

I don't get it though, a seven day ban to reflect on the fact he used an adjective that one individual (come on guys, hector is the only one who has made a fuss here is he not), took the wrong way......

Has anybody actually taken a second to ask Matt what his intentions were? Is it not possible he genuinely forgot the name of the "bl**k" (can I say that? :-| ) guys who played together. Had he said that 'x' player and the ginger kid who runs a bit funny were playing well today, would we be having this conversation?

Matt made a post which contained far more than the one phrase 'black guys'.

I just don't get it.

Anthonny O'Connor

The cost of relegation, ladies and gentlemen. Instead of planning a promotion push to L1 with O'Connor and Shaq, were trying to finish mid-table in the Conference without either. I hope the referee in the Northampton game realises just what he's done, although I doubt he does.

If Matt's not banned, there's something wrong with his account which needs mod attention, because he can't log in.

If you read the thread properly and note exactly what Dave has said, you would realise this (paying particular attention to the one made at 6:07 today (04/08/2014))

Next.
No, he's been banned for turning this from a thread about football into a thread about racism. It doesn't seem to matter that it was, in fact, Hector who turned it into a thread about racism, it seems that Matt must be banned because he dared to type the word "black", which is not allowed anymore. That in itself is a damning indictment of the sad state of affairs which now exists in this Godforsaken country.

3G pitches get the go ahead for 2015/16 season

The ladies played a friendly against Argyle on a 3G pitch yesterday and it was absolutely excellent. It did give Adele a bit of a grazed leg, but then, so would the bone hard ground of a Conference pitch in August anyway. Gone are the days, when I was at school, when we had one of the best Astroturf pitches in the country and it still had to be covered in extremely fine sand to keep it in good nick. You can imagine the injuries that used to cause. Like playing football on sandpaper.

Matt's been banned for not being a racist, so I'm handling this for him now. We're getting closer to our target every day. If we could get just another handful of donors, I can deliver some good news to Jazz by the weekend.

Best goalkeeper in history?

I think Steve1234 might well be a bot. I thought we'd got rid of them a couple of years ago, but it seems not.

Neuer is a mental, motherfucker thinks he's a midfielder. Great keeper though.

Bye Bye Billy?

That challenge then, the one which put him out for over a year, which was knee high and about three postcodes from the ball, but which the referee (who also happened to be President of the Northampton Town Supporters Club) deemed to be perfectly legal and fair, is going to cost us not only relegation, and the £400,000 that entails, but also another £70,000 in Billy Bodin. All the while they keep spending money like it's hazardous to health and getting away with being shit by being shit and rich.

Football, man, it ain't right.

Documentaries On Benefits And Immigration.

We've had the answer for years but we refuse to use it. We each have a NI number. Through this, the Gummint know how much we have paid into the system. The simple solution is that you only get back in benefits, say, 5% of that which you have paid in. So, every month, when The Man takes a big, wet, £500 bite out of your arse in income tax, you've earned £25 into your pot. Aged 16, when you've contributed **** all, if you decide to punch out sproglet and become a stain on society, then good luck to you, because you're getting no help.

The pregnant and stupid are required to complete a statement of means form (just like, decent, normal, middle class people have to when they've been caught going too fast in their heavily taxed cars on the heavily taxed roads, using heavily taxed fuel). If the form doesn't allow for an income of, say, £2000/month (is that how much babies cost?), then the Jr is removed at birth. No ifs, no buts, no **** Article 8, you knew the risks before you decided it was a good idea to have a baby and, even once you became pregnant, you were given the option to do something about it. You chose to make bad decisions left, right and centre and now you must pay for them. If it throws you into a pit of depression which results in self harm and suicide, then so be it. That's Darwin, I'm afraid. I'm bored with supporting scroungers now. I'm sick of the average man being used as a cash cow, while the lame, lazy and inadequate sponge up free shit like it's going out of fashion. If you want to rake in millions of pounds for nothing, stop fining me £100 every time I endeavour to get to work on time by ignoring the catastrophically low speed limits and start fining **** like this one a suitable amount (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-sout ... s-28463221). Three hundred quid, no doubt to be taken at £2/week out of his benefits for the next three years. For ****'s sake, he caused £11,000 worth of damage, what message does that send? Fine him £100,000. If he can't pay, then take literally everything he owns, and when that's not enough, take his parent's shit too, it's mostly their fault that their child is a delinquent, so they can **** well join in the punishment. If that's not enough, then he works off the remainder of his debt at the national minimum apprentice rate of a couple of quid an hour. He can sweep streets and empty bins. If it takes him 25 years to pay off the debt, then perhaps that'll give him time to think about what a waster he has been up until now and how he wants to change his life.

Too soft on scum, too hard on decent, ordinary people. Still, that's what a decade under a Labour Government will do to a place.

Matt.

Pre Season 2015

18 players, Chris, Lee and 5 other staff with flights at £150 each = £3750

13 hotel rooms for two nights at £75/room/night = £1950

Two lunches and two dinners per man at £10/meal = £1000

Transfers to and fro = £500

Share of costs with Lille FC = £2500

That's over ten grand already.

Tough to make judgements when we're playing opposition like T&D who aren't really there to allow us to asses the genuine level of our players. Maybe if he gets 45 minutes against Dorchester or one of the better opponents, we'll be able to judge him.

That goal is bloody beautiful. The movement of the strikers both on and off the ball creates so much space that, in the end, the finish is routine and there are actually two players queueing up to stick it in the net. Such simple passing and movement of the football made into something devastatingly effective by intelligent movement of the players. A sight to behold.

Totnes & Dartington Friendly 9th July

brooker wrote:I've heard a rumour that DD has left the club (been sacked) over a dispute about wages, this is strengthened by the fact he was absent last night. I'd be pretty disappointed if this was true.

In terms of the game, the standout player by far for me was Cameron. T&D couldn't get anywhere near him, by the time anyone had even considered a tackle, he was already past them. I thought that of the trialists, Gus stood out the most. He talks really well and dealt with everything thrown at him, also really helped some of the younger lads through with constant instruction, this can't be too easy as a player on trial. Thought some of the younger lads looked good too, Hutchings is great on the ball, and threw his weight around for a little guy, and Ives also was assured going forward, and made some important tackles. Bowman moved well, although was wasteful with his finishing. Briscoe looked pacy, it surprised me a bit how big he is for a winger though, linked up really well with Bowman for the 1st goal. Young looked good, but was never closed down, and will not get anywhere near that amount of space to spray the ball around again this season. He watched the second half with his family, and seems like a really good lad. Thought Richards looked alright first half, as did Cregg second, although he didn't really get out of second gear, he was always looking to provide an option and his delivery was excellent. I was unsure of the striker who came on in the second half. I don't think he looked too good, against a defence that was knackered by the time he came on. Again, Ajala had his moments, but overall looked predictable, and his crossing was hit and miss. Weakest player for me was Alexdrandrou at left back, lost the ball every time, and was virtually ignored by Sully and Ajala when coming on the overlap. Good game all in all, up for Dorchester now on Saturday!
When you said about Cameron skinning his man every time he touched the ball, I was suspicious of your eyesight (mainly because, when he was on the left wing at least, he was tackled successfully one time in two that he got the ball and he got the ball a lot). Then when you claimed that it was Briscoe who linked up with Bowman for the first goal, my suspicions about your lack of Specsavers action was confirmed. It was Yeoman who linked with Bowman (Yeoman and Bowman, for Christ's sake!) for the first goal.
