For ****'s sake, he caused £11,000 worth of damage, what message does that send? Fine him £100,000. If he can't pay, then take literally everything he owns, and when that's not enough, take his parent's shit too, it's mostly their fault that their child is a delinquent, so they can **** well join in the punishment. If that's not enough, then he works off the remainder of his debt at the national minimum apprentice rate of a couple of quid an hour. He can sweep streets and empty bins. If it takes him 25 years to pay off the debt, then perhaps that'll give him time to think about what a waster he has been up until now and how he wants to change his life.
