Aaron Nemane signs!

He still has a lot to do to persuade me that he's better than what we've had here there needs to be an end product with him.

Torquay United v Halifax

In a team you need a blend all we are saying if Reid had Keating or a player like Keating along side him perhaps Reid could have had more space because both centre halves would be marking. Keating is the only fit striker available and has played well in his last few games.

Torquay United v Halifax

culmstockgull wrote: 11 Jan 2020, 20:23 Have to disagree with TUST Bob, I think Nemane comes out of the same mould as Buse, runs a lot , huffs and puffs and achieves nothing, he is not creative enough to be a midfielder, certainly does not have the pace to be a winger, so what do you do with him, I thought the game was there for the taking but we had no forward threat, we continually tried to pass it into the net when the world was screaming for someone to leather it. Our new left back and centre half were very good and way above our league and its a long time since our defence has looked so solid. After their fourth booking I was surprised that Keating was not brought on to rough them up, It doesn't take a genius to see that he will be on his bike at the end of the season as Johnson just does not fancy him.
Only good thing is this was just a competitive training game with no points lost, if we can bring in a goal scorer this week I would be a lot happier.

TUST_Member_Rob wrote: 11 Jan 2020, 19:43 Have to say first half we passed the ball well and were far better than Halifax

However we lacked a cutting edge upfront and we were made to pay for that in the 2nd half

Reid had no effect but couldn't do much with 0 support, I thought Nemane and a decent game and I like Whitfield but for me you can't play both. It would have been better to have started Keating up top with Reid.

Secondly 5 at the back DOES NOT WORK! We have cried out for an experienced CB to play with Cameron, we get one in and balls it up with the wrong formation especially with Lewis doing his best out of position.

Disappointed in Johnson not changing it after we went 1-0 down, it shouldn't have taken as long as it did.
You watched the same game as me we had Keating on the bench who could have roughed up the big centre half and give Reid a breather. Andrews was needed as there is a goal in him.

Torquay United v Halifax

We played some good football up to the penalty box but did not create enough chances with the possession we had. I thought the substitutions were a bit late and Andrews perhaps should have started in a 4-4-2 I think we accommodated a couple of players to play 3-5-1-1 every time we try playing 3 centre halves we end up in trouble.
Looking back I would say we made progress on the pitch once we switched to 4-4-2.
It looks as though Garry has signed two good players but please start with 4-4-2

Torquay Talk

It was good to see Billy Boden playing for Preston on M.O.T.D. on Saturday some of his passing and he scored a good goal was brilliant it was a shame Torquay did not benefit from his rise to the Championship. Stockley who we had on loan from Bournemouth is a team mate. I have always rated him but his Torquay contract was cut short due to injury but Bristol Rovers helped him get back to good form.

Torquay United v Yeovil New Year's Day 2020

It was what it was men against boys but there were mistakes that should never happen at a professional football club on a regular basis. I would have left Lewis on in the centre-half position as he is a better balanced player.

Yeovil were the better side from start to finish but we had chances and could have won the game. The officials were very poor and how the referee can blow up when a player is fouled outside the penalty box, he lets him play on, then he gets fouled again in the penalty area, :red: blows his whistle and takes the play back to the first incident outside the penalty area.

Garry need a big strong defender.

The conditions were better for a young side.
Thankyou Louis

TUFC v Chesterfield - 21/12/19

We need to get back to basics the goal in the first minute would never of happened it we were awake from the kick off. We tend to all go forward and leave the back wide open. The wide areas are space that can be exposed and they were Winters side was wide open.
The officials were very poor including the fourth official who never took part in the game where he should have and the linesman was thinking Maguire was elbowed so making it up as could never have seen it as he went back to the half way line with play as did the referee. Their substitute should have been sent off for deliberate hand ball and a foul for stamping.

We could have done so much more better.

Noticed today on the B.City site Garry's name linked to Rovers but I would not think Lee would be loaning players to Garry there.

Torquay United v Aldershot 14/12/19

The result was the best we could wish for but there were signs at the back where confidense is not high and I know Garry can see this as well we need a left back for Lewis to move over central and I believe it would sort a big problem out.
James did a good job in front of the back four and Buse was buzzing. Jennah was back to near his best along with Read both scoring two.
