Jamie Reid
This is the point I'm making, it won't even really be a punt because he will leave on a free transfer so therefore can be signed at the expense of a very small singing on fee.culmstockgull wrote: ↑27 Jan 2019, 19:03 Reid to me is a total conundrum in football terms, is he a centre forward , is he a winger, I am not even sure he knows. There are times when he shows a total disinterest in the game, I am not even convinced he totally likes the game. When we score he is more often than not the last to congratulate the scorer if off course it wasn't him. Yesterday his football brain was in full switched on mode, not only did he grab a couple and not miss any obvious ones like at Bath. Something small yesterday when Keating was doing something with his boots and oxford were clearing their lines he was switched on enough to sprint back and cover Keatings responsibility, something I have never seen in his game before. I do not agree with the comment that Reid may wont away because he has received abuse in the past, really, even the gentile surroundings of the family stand where I sit you ought to hear the abuse some players get when they are having an off day. As a goal scorer in this league he in undoubtedly prolific, In the national league with his confidence up maybe, in division two, just possibly. Anything higher not a chance. Look at Andrews and Lemonheigh, give them three years undoubtedly they will be in the top of the championship and maybe the premier where they will undoubtedly meet and play against Janneh who is a natural goal scorer. If he wont's more money offload him to Billericay. If a scout saw him yesterday they would recommend him as a good punt, if they saw him at Bath they would keep their purse well and truly padlocked.

I would say that Janneh would be here next season promotion depending, just because he is only 19 years old and it would be a good step up for him in the national league. Would be surprised if Opi didn't sign as well.... anyway, in Johnson we trustPlainmoor78 wrote: ↑27 Jan 2019, 16:32 It wouldn't surprise me if Reid's previous experiences of abuse from his own supporters is a factor in him wanting away.
If he does go a big concern is that Reid, Janneh and Andrews, our three leading scorers, have scored 36 league goals between them. I can't see the Bristol lads being here next season. It is going to be a hell of job getting replacements for these players.

I wouldn't say that Jamie Reid should be playing any higher than the conference imo... on the basis of this season alone shouldn't warrant a transfer any higher than the conf, with us hopefully being promoted at the end of the season surely an improved offer and longer term would suit him best as he's torquay born and bred, would hate for him to move up the league's just to waste what talent he has warming the bench, having said that, if he does go then I am more than confident Gary Johnson would get in a like for like replacement...
Would rather Reidy stay though,

As we see a lot of the team have committed to new contracts. What is the situation with Jamie Reid as I thought that when we signed him on a free last January it was on an 18 month deal which will therefore be ending this summer.

A small thought
I think that he has already built an infinity with the club thus far and sees us as quite a challenge, what would be the point in going back to Yeovil, 1) could end up getting them relegated 2) could keep them up but I can’t see them getting into league 1 anytime soon...

Hall and Kalala Contract Extensions
I’m sure Hall signed a two year deal when we got him back in pre-season, so surprised with that unless I’m wrong,
Over the moon about Kalala, think we all thought after the first few games if he was any good but he has proved now to be one of our most consistent performers...
