A great memory:
Hirons' goal at 4:08 - great to see Paul Smith skinning the West Ham defence too!

Torquay v Grimsby
Would just like to register how impressed ive been with the way Kevin Nicholson has first arrested the rapid decline of the side and then improved the team. Given how low things had got there can be no doubt that he has had a big impact. The reorganisation of the side wasn't rocket science but undoubtedly there is belief now and hope. It's very, very early days but as someone who thought a rookie manager was the very last thing we needed, I have to say that THIS rookie manager might just have what it takes - very surprised and very impressed so far! Feels like he's putting that bite, passion and application into the side that seemed to be lacking and has stopped them feeling sorry for themselves!

A creditable away point if we can hang on...given the missing players it's a bloody good result - slow steady improvement...

That Wrexham match is legendary and seemed to herald a new era at United - it coincided with my dad And I deciding to attend regularly and so many exciting un-TUFC like events occurring in such a short space of time...I quickly left the childish support of boyhood idols Liverpool behind and became obsessed with heros who seemed real - have never looked back. That game signalled the dawn of the hope filled years - bit like that edition of Top of the Pops which had the Stone Roses and the Mondays on and heralded the 90s (even though it was 89)
Think it was so much more exciting because things had been so dire previously - oh for some unexpected joy and hope now!!!

Regardless of your views on the choice of manager, it's been a clear improvement in this last week and that isn't going to be a coincidence given the rut we were in - so well done Kevin!!!!

Sounds as if Richards return to the side has made a huge difference this week - some of the urgency and hustle that's been missing!

watching the Cardiff game back I'm struck by the physicality of our side!! Bloody Hell!! Caldwell, Impey, Lloyd, Mcnichol, Dawkins... And had forgotten about Alan Pearce who seemed to have a decent game! Some damn fine players stepped into that position that year - Alan Mcloughlin, Sean Haslegrave, Simon Milton... Great times... Would love to see the Swansea game - never seen any footage from that before. great work mate!

Poor old Don was doing okay until he lost the likes of Darren Moore, Adrian Foster and had to rely upon the Mark Hawthornes of this world!
