Opening myself up to ridicule a bit i know...haven't heard Rob Edwards name mentioned....? Alex Russell assisting. I know it didn't work for him at Tranmere, highly regarded coach, footballing philosophy, might get us playing some decent stuff.

will probably be a very small salary with a large bonus for keeping club up. This might mean somebody who has a trouble shooter reputation with experience will be appointed. Young promising managers at lower level might be require a salary and therefore might rule them out.

Torquay United v Boreham Wood TUE-22nd

Some positives tonight, thought Marsh looked lively at times, needs to play on last mans shoulder a little more, their 33 was scared to death of him, played too deep and got swallowed up by their holding midfielder. Briscoe made a difference, thought we were a bit narrow going forward, I can see the logic after Sat playing Hurst and Butler as wide midfielders, thought that set the tone though, we are at home against Borehamwood, and we looked more concerned with what they were going to do to us than us taking the game to them. Agree with Exodus, visibly troubled whenever ball was even threatened to end up at his feet, he is not for me. Smith has great attitude, think they are concerned he will lose out physically against national league forwards who are often cumbersome. I honestly think the bulk of thst team if fit are capable of top half finish. Whole place needs a lift, this next appointment could be biggest decision in clubs history.....be brave

I wish people would have a little foresite here with the next appointment, my view is this, managers in their mid 40s - 50s who may have 300-400 hundred appearances to their name will inevitably coach in a similar way to coaches that coached them previously 20 years before that, football has moved on, i wish we would implement a philosophy here based on the type of football that attracts fans, i am not naive enough to think that we will be capable of playing the Barcelona way, but Swindon do it on a shoe string budget, Bournemouth do it and have done for years, dare i say Exeter do it....I know when i part with 20 quid, i would like to be entertained

Cox Resigns

Perhaps you're misunderstood a little. Prior to Cox's resignation my belief is that he approached the board with the offer of a take over from a wealthy......extremely wealthy football loving associate. This was rebuffed by the existing existing board, as i imagine, any one with that kind of capital will be clever enough to realise incompetence from certain individuals shall we say. As a result PC tendered his resignation

Cox Resigns

tommyg wrote: I highly doubt Breed, Phillips, Edwards et al would risk the club's future in order to protect their own position. They're Torquay fans and want what's best for the club. Edwards said in an interview that if the right person wanted to buy the club then they would happily step aside. Not saying that what you've posted is false, but maybe the board felt Cox's contact wouldn't be beneficial to the club's future if he/she exists.
Think you will be very surprised.....

Cox Resigns

I will let people know what I have heard from a very reliable source, will not comment further. Cox has a contact, an extremely wealthy man who to purchase the football club. Because of some of the boards mission to "save the club" this was rebuffed as certain people within the hierarchy would have lost their position.

This is what I believe to be true, and will in time come out
