Torquay United v Hemel Hempstead Town, Saturday 1st September 2018
Have we signed Usain Bolt? Bloody hell Edwards is quick. He and Andrews are a cut above and could save our season.
The difference Keating made was clear to see. While Williams is still waiting for the ball to come to him Keating will chase it even if he’s not going to get there (which is how he scored against East Thurrock.)
The difference today was Andrews and Edwards - Owers still needs to go - for getting us into this league if nothing else.

Steve Breed was a member of that group. At the time he was also a member of TUST (and may well still be). He left and later answered questions about his time as part of the group on this forumYorkieandy wrote: ↑26 Aug 2018, 16:33 Apologies Gullpower. I may be misinformed. If anyone can put me right if so then that would be great.
Was Mr Phillips part of the Stephen Breed consortium or was he not and then gained overall control from them before selling up to GI?

Dave Phillips etc wouldn’t have anything to do with TUST.Yorkieandy wrote: ↑26 Aug 2018, 15:54 Fans perhaps should have been advised better when Thea etc left if i'm being ultra picky and maybe it would have been viable then with more fans coming forward to put money in. I don't think it was handled very well at all at the time and fans were not really kept up to date with the severity of the situation. It's not for me though to pick holes in that temporary running of the club because it was all they could do to keep the club simply running and fulfilling the fixtures at that time. It was chaotic for sure which i can appreciate.
Unfortunately however, that was the key time where fans perhaps could have taken over but it all happened so quickly and nobody was really ready.
Before anyone knew what day it was, Osborne had swooped and the rest is history.

Let’s hope that Harrop doesn’t make the same mistake again of sacking the manager without having another to step straight into the job. Maybe he’s been on the phone to Gary Johnson todayForest gull wrote: ↑26 Aug 2018, 15:02 Loads of decent managers out there. One must want a job surely? Gary Johnson would be a good shout.

He's the **** that appointed him, he's the **** that persisted with him when it became obvious to some of us that he wasn't the answer and he's the **** that will take over team affairs if Owers does go.
Harrop is to blame!!
Surprised you stopped at ****. Surely Fat **** is more appropriate.

Owers wasn’t good enough to keep us in the National League so why should he be able to get us promoted out of NLS?
There were rumours of him being reported to the FA last season for bullying and reports of him hectoring and haranguing the players from the dugout from supporters in the Bench. Is it surprising that the players don’t want to play for him?
However, I think the root of the problem goes back and up to those who appointed him (particularly Harrop) and the way he was appointed after the sacking of Nicho (who had kept us up!). After 4 desperate weeks without a manager he was paraded as the answer to our problems. I agree with other posters that unfortunately I don’t think Harrop etc have it in them to admit their mistake and get rid of him even though it’s patently obvious.

Also it looks like the ref and linos aren't miked up and no magic spray for free kicks.Plainmoor78 wrote: ↑11 Aug 2018, 23:19 There are no 4th officials at this level. You are right about the guy who walks around with Gilbert, it's former local ref Mike Griffiths, he performed the same duties on Tuesday.
