Squad 2024/25

Elliott Frear of Bath City had a lot of quality on the left of midfield and would be an excellent addition. He coaches at the University of Exeter, which may make it appealing for him to join us, if he could still do that role. I'd be delighted if brought him to Plainmoor. An Exeter lad, that went on to FGR, Motherwell and Hearts. Not sure if he's signed up for another year at Bath City or not. But would be an excellent addition.

Bryn Consortium Take-Over

Re Warnock - Yeah, I think I'd be open to a man with rough guess, 1000 games in management, with numerous promotions to his name, contacts, experience in every division in the last 30 years. A media darling, who is based locally. With a soft spot for the club. Go on then.

He would raise everything about the football club. Without forgetting where we are & have been, in an ideal world, he can have whatever role he wants.

Tongue in cheek Smilie.

CLE or Jake Andrews, 3 or 4 years ago, being realistically the most recent I can think of.

I'd have no problem with him playing wing back. In a weaker division, 6 months on, following that exposure to playing in a different position. A learning curve, not a deciding factor whether he can play that role or not.

If he's only got last season to call on regarding his experience playing at wing back, then it's no surprise that he wasn't the finished article, especially in a struggling side. Wasn't he a first year professional? Reminds me of Angus MacDonald during that first spell with TUFC.

It's unrealistic to think he won't improve, or be good enough going forward. A young attacker, with no previous first team experience, doing a job for the manager, in a team of youngsters, losing most weeks.

That is how he will develop (not that it matters regarding moving on and making TUFC a transfer fee - we know they leave for free) really experiencing the importance of his and the team's need to defend and attack with equal gusto. That will make him a more rounded footballer.

It may be irrelevant, re playing at wing back, but I'm pleased to see a loanee join the club on a permanent deal, the first since... Leon Constantine?

Aldershot Town v Torquay United Tues 23 Nov KO 19.45

Shaun Mac and the back 4 are fine, I don't have many concerns with MacDonald, Wynter, Moxey, Lewis & Harry Perritt. I do want to see more width in the attacking areas, not getting that currently. Moxey is 35/36, Wynter is naturally rigid in position.

Lapslie isn't a technical player, nor will he get on the ball and create an opportunity or threaten to score. His heart, commitment and bravery are great if he has an Alex Russell/Jason Fowler like alongside him. I just see Matt Hockey, he won't win the game, but he has his obvious positives & will be better when he is just a water carrier. He is trying to get forward and it's not his strength.

Little is having to be take it by the scruff of the neck and make things happen, he doesn't have the players around him. You see Dimitar Berbatov at Man Utd, he had Scholes, Rooney, Tevez, Ronaldo. When he was with Bulgaria, he didn't perform as well, his team mates around him were not on his wave length. He's got goals this season, yet in another team Armani Little would bring more. A 3 of Lapslie terrier like sitting, with Little/CLE in advance getting forward please.

Losing Nemane and Whitfield has not been rectified. Last night a left back and left footed centre midfielder, lacking pace, formed our wide options. That was out of necessity, we don't have the money to bring anyone in and the options available don't bring balance to the team. (Chiori isn't a winger, Keelan isn't overly excelling in his first season playing regular men's football) It's no surprise that it goes long in search of a goal, there's no out ball.

Rectifying the lack of balance out wide will help our current struggle, no end. I hope we can find the budget to do that & that GJ is still here to to bring in that person. He goes and it's a young novice ala Nicholson or an older novice ala Gary Owers that replaces him. Might need to move on someone from Omar, Halstead, Asa, Andrews, Wright to free up budget & do that, which seems unlikely. Or else it's an 18 year old with no first team experience, learning on the job again, at best.

Disappointing, but expected us to end up lower mid table, hoping we do now.

Andrews? A little harsh to single Jake out, Asa Hall, Little & Lemonheigh Evans all had poorer games last night.

Solihull Moors Away Tuesday 6/8/19

Got my tickets online last night.

Can we just go to the turnstiles showing the tickets off our phones,? For them to be scanned to allow entry.

Or will we be told they can't be scanned & to get it printed out at the ticket office?

2019/2020 Kits

All 3 shirts are nice.

The blue kit is great.

The white and yellow kits - I don't get the choice of socks. White socks on the home kit? Is this a Nike deficiency? They gave us mango last season and white before, no yellow socks in stock..

The white shirt would go better as a kit with white shorts and white socks, fingers crossed that would be the combo on away games. No need for black in either kit then.

Conrad Logan has never been connected with TUFC. He did play in goal for Boston on that last game of the season during Ian Atkins' great escape though.

2019/2020 Kits

Fair point re the volume of sales. It may only entice one or two extra to buy, it wouldn't see a reduction and would increase number of people displaying TUFC merchandise.

Chelsea is an example. There are other lower league clubs who have pre empted the end of season and got it sorted. If your selling a pair of shorts, do it in May, not August, when the sun's gone.
