Vincent Dorel

Mismanagement aside, I struggle to see why Torquay don't communicate with the customers, sorry fans, on an appropriate level? I wish they would.

''Sean McGinty has left Torquay United having rejected a new contract and agreed a deal with Partick Thistle. We thank SM and wish him well for the future.''

''Vincent Dorel has rejected the contract offer and upon the expiry of his contract has decided to leave the club. We thank you for your efforts VD. Au revoir.''

Basic information, yet the club is a closed book.

Player Search - Who Will Turn Up?

Gulliball wrote: 30 Jun 2018, 17:57 The two players who have left for Scotland have joined sides in tiers 2 and 4. McGinty will be full-time in a division that is mainly full-time but some part-time sides (sound familiar?) and Balatoni will be in a totally part-time league (and training to be a financial adviser as his main job).
I was thinking Ryan Bowman. But he had a stint at Gateshead before joining Motherwell. I'll stop eating that humble pie

Rightly so, part time footballer/part time working in a gym contracted to a club in the national league or full time contracted to; for example - Rochdale's development squad I know what I'd prefer as a neutral.

Full time status, playing first team football all day long. Torquay are an attractive proposition this season.

Samir Nabi and Ben Wynter.

Gives an idea to the style of Samir Nabi. Sounds like a technical player. He'll need to adjust to the inevitable physical part of non-league football to be a success.

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/ ... -west-brom

"Samir has just taken it to another level this year for the U21s and the U18s with the goals he's been scoring and the way he has been performing. He's been fantastic.

"He's very technical in terms of where he plays in midfield, running with the ball and going forward. He scores a lot of goals for a player playing in that position.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40120232

"Samir is an excellent technical player and we now need to school him in what he needs to do when we are out of possession," said boss Keith Curle.

Rennes are top flight in France.

There is no chance a top flight club, anywhere in the world, will be signing a Torquay United player in his mid 20's.

Samir Nabi and Ben Wynter.

This is the type of signing I've long wanted to see the club make.

2 young professionals, who have been coached at the higher level of English football & HAVE to gain experience of first team football or face stagnating.

We have the advantage of being a 'professional' club in this division - which should be able to attract similar signings. These two should be delighted to take advantage of the pathway to first team football at TUFC, at a low quality level, whilst others in the same boat have to resort to part-time football or continue in the B team with bigger clubs. Sink or swim time.

For the optimism of possible development, neither unfortunately has the nous or experience of regular mens football that would jusity expectations to hit the ground running.

Exciting, but patience needed I'd suggest! Neither player is past their best and SHOULD improve. :) :) :)

Initial thoughts?
Don't go ''Gary Lineker'' on us.

What are your thoughts Nathan?

Player Search - Who Will Turn Up?

I hope there is little to this than just a fan based rumour - Re James Constable.

The club IMO should be looking at players 18-26 who can develop and be sold on for money. I've had enough of the likes of Ryan Clarke, JP Pittman, Josh Gowling, Yann Klukowski, Rory Fallon, etc joining the football club, offering nothing and leaving for nothing or being paid off. Experience and know how didn't help at all with ANY of them!

Give me a Eunan O'Kane type who is young, hungry and has room to improve, over those on the wane or passed a use by date.

There must be so much talent who would give their right arm in the semi-professional game to join TUFC at this level, playing rather than joining the development squad or a club in League 1,2, National League and become full time.

No more over 30's dead wood!! Wake up Torquay.

Reg Wyatt last played for Torquay United 51 years ago.

You can't make a comparison between the two, the game's evolved too much since.

He will be missed at the centre of defence. McGinty's a big, brave centre half, prone to hoofing it under pressure & capable of the odd rush of blood to the head - especially under pressure. A decent centre half though, I'd have preferred a TUFC defence with him than without (this season anyway.)

At 25, this is last chance saloon for him.

If he's joining Torquay United, you'd have to imagine very few offers are on the table for him to remain full time in English football.

He has talent, hence why Arsenal, Blackburn, Liverpool, Leicester & Crystal Palace all signed him up at some stage. His loan spell at Plymouth was impressive too!

But to counter that, it's never worked out for him anywhere on a long term basis. Wycombe liked what they saw and released him without many opportunities. Same for Crawley Town & Woking (who shipped him out 12 months into a 2 year deal this summer.)

A kick up the arse or an arm around the shoulder, or a hard look at where his career is headed may be needed for him. I hope he gets that fire in his belly, applies himself, delivers consistency and fires us to promotion. Or else it's part time football for him in 12 months time.

Nothing on the TUFC official website, with it being the main place for official news on the club. I guess we can't accept it's confirmed until then.

Who is in charge of the media side of things at this club? Is it a part time gig?

They need a rocket up their arse, the communication is abysmal.
