TRIALISTS

Anyone know who the number 7 for TUFC was today? looked to be the only half decent player. always looked to beat his man. bringing on the kit man was an insult to be honest. Number 10 for Stoke Gabriel could be a player, looked good.

Retain List

Bleeper wrote: 07 May 2017, 18:55 I agree with the most part of that but the decision to guarantee a contract to Richards over Williams or even GG is beyond me... Nicho even says if Brett stays we have guaranteed goals, well bloody sign him up then!!

Brace yourselves

Good Afternoon

Is it any surprise that GI haven’t bothered to show up for todays press conference at Torquay United FC?. When are YOU as the local ‘rag’ gonna represent the people of the area and put it out there and express their disgust at this takeover???? You must as reporters be aware of the disgust from fans, yet have failed time and time again to express the thousands of fans opinions.

When are you going top let the people of Torbay know about the Chinese investors willing to save the club and keep the football team alive? Is the herald and its sport journalists involved in the back hand, brown envelope dealings, so obviously happening at Plainmoor???

It is fundamentally wrong to only report one side of the story and the herald has only ever reproduced comments from the board members. YOU are as much responsible as Philips of watching the club be sold down the pan. Get out of your office and do some real journalism and help save our club!!! Aa

Allow the children of Torbay continue to have the dream of playing for their home town team.

YOU are contributing to the downfall!!!!!

have just sent this to the BBC, evening herald, TUFC and mayors office of Torquay. I for one am willing to put it out there, I guess the more people try and get it out there the better, I'm lucky, I'm home on leave today, not everybodys got time to send countless emails but just sending 1 might help!

wave got to try to save our club, stop GI's takeover and get it out in the community how the club needs saving from these crooks

Atmosphere on matchday

brooker wrote:The problem is Goody that the few fans near me who actually start the chants have just about given up, and Danny has stopped playing the drum as no-one was singing. I find this a bit frustrating, as an atmosphere makes things so much more enjoyable and Plainmoor's been like a morgue recently, but a lot of these guys go home and away every week, and are sick of the consistently crap performances that they've seen.

You can't enforce singing, or drumming, and until they see something on the pitch which justifies some support the atmosphere isn't going to improve.

I get that, I really do, just think we need to try and get it going off the pitch, which might help on it. Trust me I would happily bring my boots down and help out, cant do any worse than some we watch

Atmosphere on matchday

Orange Gull wrote: Personally I can't stand it when clubs play super loud overbearing music before the start of the game. It totally ruins any attempts by the fans of either side to create a decent atmosphere. It's yet another attempt by clubs to sanitise and stage manage the atmosphere.

I don't think the fans can be blamed for not being exactly raucous during games this days, we've had four years of steadily worsening failure and disappointment, that takes its toll. The team has to give the crowd something, it can't just be a one-way relationship.

But that's the point, yes the footballs not great, its national league, what do you expect? but the library like atmosphere around Plainmoor isn't helping matters. Yes we go there and pay our money to be entertained, but come on, the fans have got to play their part too.

So many posts on this forum talk about the lack of quality, blame the owners, save the club, blah blah blah, but we can do something very little that will give a big impact by creating an atmosphere. Somewhere away teams don't want to come to.

we all no the state of the club and its football isn't great. but its our club too, we need to do our bit!! sitting there eating your hotdog drinking your brew is not getting behind the lads. perhaps the music pre game is not the best idea, but perhaps if we actually sung we wouldn't need it

Atmosphere on matchday

Go easy on me guys, I'm still new to this.....

I have noticed a massive decline in match day atmosphere over the season.

I understand the clubs in massive financial disarray and I understand the anxiety and tension about the place. I just think its time the fans to get behind the team more during the games. I was there for the west broom game in pre season, it was a cold wet night but Plainmoor was rocking. Yes it was a premier ship team, but if we can get up for them, why cant we Wrexham or Southport at home.

Where's the guy with the drum?? He needs to come back and get the party going.

Pre match music, lets get it louder and more party like (it works wonders at the boxing and darts!!) surely anything is worth a try!!

Weve got a new signing, who looks like he could just be what we need in front of goal, why are we not coming up with new songs???

Now I know there's going to be a lot of negative comments on this about the doom and gloom on the pitch. but if the players feel and heart the support from their fans, maybe, just maybe they'll put in a performance we all crave!

Torquay v Wrexham 19/11 3pm

Result obviously matters, but I think we've got to get behind the boys, give them some atmosphere and let them know we are all in this together. The results will come, but we cant have them playing in a library!! COYY!!!!!!

Constructive ideas how the club can make some more money

How about having the fans pick the man of the match, text a number, the poll shown on the big screen at the end of the game, charge £1/£1.50 per text. Easy way of making aprox £1000 per home game

Torquay v Southport Saturday 29th October 3pm

Another dreadful display, not just 2nd half but the whole match. No passion, no tactics, no skill, no believe, no desire, to even attempt to play football, let alone try and win the game. There's no point lumping it to Blissett if there's no runners. The midfield were 40 yards off the front, Nicho on the side telling them to get up the pitch and the players just strolling around. I'm not understanding the love for Richards. He's useless, player and captain. Rarely wins a tackle, when he does, its down to the opponent miscontrolling it more times than not, he cant pass the ball accurately further than ten yards, hes the captain, where's the drive, the passion?? There was more passion in the young boy on the drum amongst the Southport fan, should he not be echoing Nicho, driving the team forward??

I understand the clubs in rag order and in need of some investment, but I'm not having that's to blame for today or even the last few games. Perhaps if the players played better, listened to instructions, got a bit fitter, they might actually win a game of football, get some points, move up the league and look like a better investment for any potential buyers!

Nicho is doing his job well, but he needs the support of the players to help get the club up to where we all want it. They must take on some responsibility, they are happy to take the wages, its time they earned them.

The dwindling fan numbers are not going to improve in the short term with the football that's on offer, colder days/nights and with xmas on the horizon, why would people waste their hard earned money?? Perhaps the club need to offer some incentives to fill the ground, £10/£5 tickets will get the people through the door, get the commercial manager out of her office playing on twitter and actually advertise the club around the bay. That way people might actually know when events and fundraising campaigns are on.

Just hope this week provides us with some answers and we can draw line and go again this season!

Yellow Army!!
