Does anyone remember when MOTD has just the 1 game and around 1968 I reckon, it was us! A table topping match at Plainmoor against Bury, and we won 3-0. Stood in a packed Babbacombe End.We were on again a couple of years later v Fulham, winning again.
I think our decline can be traced back as far as those times. John Bond buggered off to Bournemouth and took half the team with him. 10000 crowds became 5000 almost overnight it seemed to me,and the rest is history I guess.
Don’t know whether there was a general deckin in gates at that time but ours seemed to drop through the floor .

How about the FA cup 3rd round game at Coventry, late 80s? Must have been 2500+ there.
I once went to Blackburn, early 70s , with a great uncle who lived there. I swear I was the only Torquay fan in the ground! Lost of course

Have just fired out an email to The Torbay Chamber of Commerce with the petition link,highlighting the business benefits to the bay of TUFC.Just hope Osborne isn't a member

This is panning out as many feared.We have the petition, am sure most on here have emailed the MP, mayor and councillors to death. I am 200 miles from Torquay and am not as close to the inner workings of the club and local politics as others. My question is what else we can do as individuals or collectively to save the club from what seems a slow painful death? It could be that things are going on in the background with TUST, but it seems to me as a minimum we need this to be a high profile topic in the General Election and not lose focus between now and end of July.I cannot believe the HE is behaving as it is. Are there any other outlets down there that can get the message out ? Am brain wracking so feel free to shoot me down or make suggestions.

Seems to me that the answers to Q11, parts 1 and 3,should be "strongly disagree" . We do not NEED the new stadium to achieve and sustain league status although of course it could be the way to go if everything is above board,with all the usual caveats expressed on here by pretty well everyone.There is a comment section at the end of the question where I will explain why I strongly disagree, and point out that the question is misleading .

Alan Welsh, Mal Lucas and John Rudge. All used to frequent our chip shop! I remember that game . Alan Welsh gave me a lift to the ground -happy days indeed!
