Gaming International have taken our club hostage
The latter bit is the key part for me, let's be realistic we are leaving Plainmoor but we need to fight to make sure the alternative venue (that allows us to be a league club again) is in situ before they can develop.

Gaming International have taken our club hostage
I'll support the club as normal and give them a chance...but today I contacted the council to start making my feelings clear and ask the best way to voice my concerns.
My personal view is very simple, I accept that the Plainmoor freehold will be sold but this should only be agreed and signed over once a alternative stadium is passed and built that is big enough to support a league club, if it creates other income streams to support the football club then that's fine with me.

Rumours coming out he has been sacked but also GI haven't turned up... which completely contradict each other!
God knows what's going on!

I know a fair amount of this to be 100% correct (certainly not all of it), so have no reason to disbelieve the other parts (although I was informed the funds the staff were raising were for the Americans that came back in not Chinese).
As I mentioned on a different thread 'good people' had done something fantastic to try and save us from GI but I didn't want to name names as a lot are still at the club but now the whistle blowers have stated who I think they deserve huge credit for all their efforts.
Contrary to Merse (the self created font of all knowledge and he who must be reveared and listened too who bans you from his site should you dare to challenge!!!) I was not directly involved so had no benefit to be "milking it for all it's worth" I just heard what a fantastic thing these guys had done and felt people deserved to know. Up until about 2pm on Friday as I understand it they had succeeded.

Agree Lucy, I have thought long and hard think about where I am with things and have settled on the fact my 6 year old loves the club and I won't deprive him of the opportunity to support them when we can.
He doesn't get what's going on and to refuse to take him would be very selfish and something I would regret even more if he doesn't get the chance to watch them in the future.

I think we all fear the worse and should of course be on our guard but likewise now this has happened we need to be open to change as it's certainly coming.

Gaming International have taken our club hostage
It will all come out in the next few days I'm sure. A lot did happen on Friday and at one stage we were not selling to GI but then things changed, I'm still not sure what the reason was for the last minute change but Phillips has said he will be explaining the events in due course.

Gaming International have taken our club hostage
I have been advised that there was a reason as to why the Chairman and co changed their mind last minute after yesterday morning agreeing to the offer I mentioned earlier which will soon become clear and they claim will show why the it wasn't their fault....
I think it's only fair to allow them the opportunity to justify their actions without receiving personal abuse.

This is exactly what Im referring too.knightmaregull wrote:I can't also verify first hand that the directors were given a opportunity to delay handing the noose to GI until the end of Jan with fans clubbing together to fill the financial void at absolute risk. They agreed to do this and inexplicably changed their mind once the news was relayed to GI yesterday afternoon. What GI said to them to bring this change about I have no idea but the directors have acted shamefully in my opinion, giving up when there were still viable escape routes. This all goes beyond incompetence / mismanagement. It's far more murky.

Your talking about something different to me I think Mrdistance (although as I say there was a rumor of another interested party coming back in too).
The one I refer to was (allegedly) from America and although they were very keen felt timescales would be the end of Jan so funds needed to be found to support the club until this point which is where the 'good people' stepped in to make it viable.

This is (allegedly) the tale of events. Im not Phillips or the person(s) that were directly negotiating and they are the only people that can say 100% what occurred yesterday and perhaps they should be the ones laying the hard facts out for all to see.

Gaming International have taken our club hostage
The fact of the matter is the board have never asked the supporters for help or support which had always appeared odd. On Thursday they got the option without asking for it for support to not sell to GI and not have to fund the next month whilst the alternative buyer was dealt with..... but they played along to outwardly seem like they were trying but then ignored it and sold to GI.
Why didnt they take this assistance? Why didnt they ever ask for help from supporters? Its now clear that the answer is they never wanted any help as they wanted to sell to GI and any assistance from the fans would just get in their way.

Until recently I have always tried to see it from the boards point of view as best I could but more (allegedly) happened in the last 24 hours than most know about and in my mind now Phillips and Co deserve all they get and more.
I hope he is going to be there on Boxing day as I believe in addressing any issues to peoples faces and ill be looking for him.

Its actually (allegidly) worse than that-
A group of good people actually got together to raise the funds (within 24 hours) to support the club until the end of January to allow this takeover to go through. Yesterday in the morning Phillips had indicated he was willing to do it, subject to the meeting at 2pm and gaining approval, by 4pm he changed his mind and signed with GI.
