Dont think you can include Briscoe and Fisher in the worst ever signings !
Briscoe was signed by Hargreaves and was very good in his first season and Fisher banged in 8 goals
in 9 games in the Scottish Premership for Inverness, and 7 for us in half a season before that

Ryan Clarke - New Goalie
Tony Scott, used to call him spaghetti legs, great crosser and could do it with the outside of his foot. Also
remember Cliff Jackson taking corners like that , dont know how he didnt kick the corner flag
Used to go down with my Dad to buy the football 'buff' on saturday evenings at Bondys, he was often there with
Pete Randall. He scored a few goals at centre forward too. Doug Clarke - what a shot that bloke had, up there
with Bruce Rioch and Donal Murphy. Alan Kirkman - one of those clever underated players like John Rudge
Saturday nights at Plainmoor with huge crowds, incredible atmosphere and a great winning team

Good signing I would say, we now have an experienced spine to the team, Clarke, Gowling, Young, Pitman
Waiting for SG to comment, as a goalkeeper and Eastleigh follower he will have an opinion no doubt
Maybe Merse is happy with this keeper too ?

Grandstand 1965?
Ah Jack Swindells - responsible for the worst miss I have ever seen. In a reserve game, clean through
took the ball around the keeper on the penalty spot and then managed to chip the ball over the gaping goal from 8 yards
Saw our former player John Fairbrother do a similar thing playing against us for Mansfield, but maybe not
quite as bad

Think Brendan would have been better off playing another full season for us rather than warming Rochdales
bench. Still, I am sure he will get better coaching there
Looks like Pokey it is then, lets hope he has improved on crosses

Dont think Poke would be an improvement on Moore, good shot stopper but thats the easy part of goalkeeping,
I mean Rice was brilliant at that, but unless he has improved, seem to remember him staying on his line a lot
and being a bit of a flapper

Would say that the 700 odd season ticket buyers are just diehard fans who will support the club through thick
and thin whatever the results - like me

Good interview with Kevin, thought he talked and explained things well but as usual , talking means nothing
and it is all about results. All I ask is to see a gradual improvement in performances and results and not another
relegation struggle

Dont know much about Kenny Griffiths, but John Turner surely has a great deal of knowledge to pass on
even if his mobility is restricted so hardly a 'stupid comment'. I know he has been used in the past
Quite happy with Brendan Moore, Merse probably has seen him in a few away games only and maybe
he was not at his most convincing but in the 22 home games I saw he was a decent keeper who catches
most of the crosses he comes for, certainly more than previous keepers of ours who remain rooted to their line

Not sure a 20 goal striker does guarantee you will be top half of the table
Michael Cheek 19 for Braintree and Alabi , Chester and Ugwu , Woking got 17, ok not 20 ! but near enough
I dont think you can have 11 players not all giving 100 per cent if you want to be in the top 5

Think thats actually a fair posting by Merse , you cant carry players like Williams and you cant just rely on
one player to score, we need more from midfield to contribute for a start, a midfielder that actually makes
supporting runs and gets in the box would help !
Only upset about Sparkes leaving, think Verma was a bit a of fancy dan at times, a bit casual and could have worked
harder, I actually preferred him at right back
