He has a lot a qualities which are overlooked because his passing is not the best at times
and he does give the ball away too much, but he has been
virtually the first name on the team sheet for 3 years under Nicholson and Hargreaves so he must have
something unless the fans think they are better judges of a player than those two - I don't think so

Can you blame him for taking the job ?
Think Alan Knill was also a lot to blame for taking us down ! When Hargreaves took over just over half the season
had gone and we were already in the bottom two , tough enough job for an experienced manager, fair enough to
blame the people who offered him the job. I like to remember him as a player who gave everything for us in every
game, not many you can say that about, not a manager who couldnt make the play offs in his first full season
Just because you haven't been able to get into tight trousers for 40 years !

Hargreaves turn to get a pasting now is it.....?
He may not last as a pundit, but has a good reputation as a coach, ask Eddie Howe, Exeter and Bristol Rovers
and could have made a good manager in time

F A Trophy

After the 2nd round the games are on saturdays so if you reach the semis 4 postponements to fit in midweek
plus any you lose to the weather and you have a problem esp with a squad the size of ours !

Exeter playoff

Not in my opinion, but then I am not a great rugby fan. Have been once , paid £40 for a seat in the South
Stand, pitch level, 30 yards behind the posts, couldnt see anything at the far end

Quite like that idea, though would rather have two going straight up, not that its going to bother us for a while

If GI fail getting the freehold...

Think I would rather Smurthwaite than Masters
Poor old Geoff wont be very happy if GI make a swift exit, his brother in law is it? finds him a nice job then
says 'sorry Geoff, we're off now' .

Seem to remember David Graham, signed by Colin Lee, being on the bench a lot in McFarlands time ,
didnt flourish until Leroy came. Bit of a Nicho/Williams scenario. Both lazy players who needed a manager
to accept and accommodate the sort of player they were at the same time encouraging and working with
them. I am sure Nicho has been doing that as Williams definitely improved laterly. If he re signed he may
do well next season and score 20 goals

Yes, he was more of a success at Pool than here where he never really took off after that blistering start
as you say maybe partly due to Roy Mac
Remember another game v Pool in 82? when they finished with 8 men, two sent off for fighting with each other
We still struggled to win it 3-2 ! Think it was a penalty from right back John Doyle

The Play Offs

Yeah, the team who we stuck 9 past and should have beaten twice, 4-3 and 5-3 are up
As Lucy said looks like Eastleigh at Xmas, or possibly Aldershot, we used to play them Boxing Day, remember
beating them 5-2 one Christmas and we beat them 5-2 away as well that season, Stubbs got 7 of them

Expectations for next season

'Mid table wont reverse the descent of the average gate to appalling new lows' says the Prophet of Doom
?? Our average gate went up this season according to two sources I looked at
Dont think they will drop any lower personally, think the loyal fan base is there and GI not putting any money into
the team wont make it drop any lower. Dont think our lowest ever gate will be in danger.

Expectations for next season

A points tally in the sixties though as this means only 2 more wins and a draw than this season it does
not seem much, and should be easily achievable, Perhaps the high sixties which would see us flirting
with the play offs. Whatever, there must be progress and improvement whatever the budget ! or Nicho
will be a dead man walking - where have I heard that before ?
