Some tough tacklers in that team , Harrison, Stocks, Boulton, Parker.......we would be down to 7 men these days
if they started, some good haircuts too

Nathan Smith
Says Brucie who saw McGinty play once this season, and Smith a few times last season ?
He has been watched by several Championship clubs this season, we will see if he moves up the leagues
Bog standard league two? Laughable !
What makes me laugh is posters who come out with all these expert comments, who see about half a dozen
games a season !

Yes, terrific player, too good for league 2 next season
It's strange that with a back four of Berry (2nd half of season) MacDonald, Smith and Butler we conceded 15 more
goals than this season. You would have that back 4 over this seasons any day, but maybe we should credit
Nicholson for getting the team to defend as a whole, better this , than last season, I am sure SG
would agree . Mind you we did have a much better keeper this season who played every game which must
have helped, Lavercombe and Speiss just not up to it. Is Lavercombe still at Colwyn Bay or somewhere ?

On the subject of Nicholson, happy enough for him to carry on, but on a similar budget to this year he must
improve. If we are in the bottom third
when we go into 2018, he has to go, I think even he would agree
with that
improve. If we are in the bottom third

And.........it seems that Nicholson is staying
The great gods of knowledge , Merse and SG have been banging on for months about how he would be on his
way at the end of the season whatever league we were in, , dead man walking etc etc, got that one wrong didn't they

Agree with Tomogulls post and some interesting stats re goals conceded, suggesting that some defeats could easily
have turned into points
We have a young team who are improving as individuals and as a team and we have to be patient as obviously
funds are not going to be made available for better players. 2 or 3 additions in key areas should see an improvement
to mid table or flirting with play offs. Some 'mental' coaching also needed , we must treat every opponent as if they
were top of the table. Moore is not a problem , I have seen 22 home games, not sure how many Merse has seen

Have clear memories of that game, was just walking into the ground in a 'blizzard'as we went 1-0 up with
a Mal Lucas goal, about as rare as snow in Torquay. Got the the winner when the very underated John Rudge
followed up his parried penalty by Jim Furnell to score at the Babbacombe End. Yes 15,000 at Plainmoor
and we think 4000 is a big crowd now

He was also a milkman in his later years delivering in the Shiphay/Cadewell areas (there's something Merse doesn't know, no he probably does)
I remember him saying to me once that Frank O'Farrell was a 'Bad un ' -think it was Frank who released him, he would have only been about 31 then, remember him hugging the touchline waiting for the ball, hands on hips and several
teeth missing, but a great player, though I only caught the end of his career

Well we will just have to wait and see what happens in the close season
Having just read the Heralds interview with Clarke 'Genghis' Osborne, I am hopeful he has some interest in the
teams success . I think the foul mouthed abuse should stop, stick to considered opinions
I would say to him though, what GI have spent since they arrived is not investing in the team. Some experienced
players needed in the summer please Mr Osborne, to help any of our younger players who will remain

Bad Vibes. Let's get them out of the way
Saturday will be a tough game, North Ferriby will be relaxed and wont want to go down with a defeat. They will
raise their game in front of a big especially for them crowd and 'big' stadium Dont forget they won at FGR
recently. Not a game where we want go a goal down again with some sloppy defending
Would expect Guisley to win, and who knows what mood Forest Green will be in at York. We have to win this game

Must not relax for a minute next week thinking we have done it, already relegated teams are dangerous

There WAS radio mic contact between them, I didnt actually see a flag at any time, maybe wrong, but seemed an
incredibly long conflab before disallowing the goal
