Wrote this on FB so I’ll copy to here:
MacDonald: Amazing what being No 1 can do for a keeper’s confidence. Magnificent when called upon today.
Johnson: Bit clumsy at the start - felt like he was trying too hard - but grew into the game. Solid.
Wynter: Has always done well when I’ve seen him step into a central role. Brilliant block in the first half.
Omar: I’m sure he’s a lovely guy but generally feels like he’s won a competition to play in a game of professional football. Dealt with most by putting it into touch but better teams will waltz past him. (Think it was him who headed against the bar early on but was a long way away.)
Martin: Our best player by a mile. Everything down the left was through him.
Hall: Mostly composed but just not up to the pace any more.
CLE: That miss will haunt me, let alone him. Still can’t believe it. Other than that excellent and took his goal very well.
Duke: Looked a bit lost in the 1st half, some nice touches aside, but got into the game when the lights came back on. Could be the creative force that takes us to the play-offs.
Little: Woeful first half, wonderful second half. Amazing how much difference it can make when he actually beats the first man from a set play.
Wearne: Linked up brilliantly with Martin and Little down the left. A genuine joy to watch and took his goal very well.
Wright: Some lovely touches but had to come looking for the ball. We don’t want you out on the wings, Danny!
Holman: Almost scored with his first touch after nicking the ball off their No 18 (who makes Omar look like Jaap Stam). Did his job of closing down and generally being a nuisance well.
316 TUFC fans: Always a pleasure. (FWIW I’m still unbeaten this season: Notts, Chesterfield, Wrexham, Altrincham.)

Can’t remember who it was against now but we stuffed one team 6-0 in pre-season this time last year. Fat load of good it did us.brucie wrote: 11 Jul 2018, 22:41 Christ its a friendly get over yourself - we have about nine new players. Any players can suffer pre season knocks and Bawling is expected to be back on Saturday. Absolute bollocks on here to be honest.

Just watched the highlights myself. Seems like only one incident where he doesn't close down their right winger - who, for the record, was the man of the match by a country mile.
Also - how much has Clarke paid the editor to skim through the first half as quickly as possible?! And Dorel's save is even better on that video than it was in real life.
McGinty's clearance - good grief. Notice that someone (Young?) slips as he goes to make the block. Not saying it would have made a difference but might have.

First game since Halifax away - both games felt we should have won, but ultimately pleased because we didn't crumble at 1-0 down in either.
Echo the thoughts on Reid. I'm hoping we get a Williams-Romain strikeforce for the foreseeable. I will defend Reid on the one-on-one, though. Yes, he should have scored it, but no other Torquay player on the pitch would have even created the chance for himself.
Sadly, his head seemed to drop the second the ball flashed wide and it was downhill from there. His general inability to get any sort of a challenge in is as frustrating as it gets.
Felt we should have got at them a bit more in the first half. You could tell in the first half they'd conceded 6 the week before - none of the defenders wanted the ball and the keeper wasn't interested.
If you'd offered me a point at the start of the day I'd have probably taken it, but now I'm frustrated we didn't win. It was there for the taking.
Dorel, Balatoni, Young, Barnes, Davis and Romain all played well.

No linesman is giving that. Replay suggests it was the correct decision.
Apropos, why on earth would you go to a game and watch the whole match through your phone?

Fair enough! Can't believe I didn't think of that. Silly me. Can't wait for your interpretation of "queer" and "poof" that you were shouting at York players last season...SuperNickyWroe wrote: 24 Oct 2017, 21:14 I thought you'd know that "faggot" is a Devon delicacy.... lovely with gravy...... and mushy peas...
all about interpretations and opinion.

John on co-comms said it was one of the best goals he's seen from a player in yellow. Looking forward to seeing it. Going to have to do a lot to better David Graham (vs. Kidderminster), Kevin Hill (vs. Stockport), and Morike Sako (vs. Bristol Rovers).

For future reference, just go to the Torquay United homepage and click "Listen Live" at the top of the page.
It's John Cadigan (who, for the record, is an adult).

Pretty sure you could say "always feels like we will concede" about any team. If I was a Halifax fan on Saturday I would be wondering how on earth we were only 6 points off top at the start of play.arrywithanh wrote: 24 Oct 2017, 08:49 need the 'rub of the green' so to speak... I am actually going for a draw again. I agree the team on paper should not be bottom four, but our defending is awful at times, always feels like we will concede.
I'm all in for a scrappy 1-0 win at Ebbsfleet. Was meant to be in London this week so could have gone but that's changed. Pretty gutted, but I'll be listening in.
