Away Kit?
Like it or loathe it at least it can be said that the new owners are involving the fans in choosing an away strip, something Osborne would never have considered.

New manager announced - Paul Wotton
The previous owner/directors had no intention of helping the club in any way only to see it's demise. We now have genuine supporters trying their best to run the club with their own finances and no alterior motives.Neil Warnock with his vast experience of all divisions has advised that Paul Wotton would be a good manager at our current level.Every other club has had to pay Warnock to dig them out of a hole which he's succeeded at many times. Now he's giving his experience for free and has said he has no intention of managing the club. How any of this can be negative bemuses me ,if he decides to leave in a few months so be it ,there would still be a manager but his knowledge may have gained the club advantage against others .Can't see the problem.

Torquay United v H&W Sat 20th Apr 3pm
Downes praised the supporters and players when due which was refreshing to hear instead of blaming everyone and everything around him when things went wrong.Whatever happens wish him well and if we survive in a new regime would be happy to give him a chance to see what he can do.

Presumably the preferred bidder comes up to the credentials required. It does sound as though they haven't stated an exact figure for purchasing the club otherwise you wouldn't wait to see what division we would be in if they'd already made a firm offer financially.

I may be way off the mark but could it be that Edwards gets hold of the club then continues to take it lower and lower (with Osborne lurking in the background)so that it can be brought up again in another year that it's no longer sustainable and bring up the building situation again with the council.Devious as Osborne can be.

In the years Osborne has owned the club there was no intention of him wanting success on the field of play ,yes a possible stay of execution may be five years but if he had been able to obtain land within six months of owning it he would have jumped at the chance.Compare him to the likes of Mike Bateson who it didn't even cross his mind about land and profit for himself hence him keeping the club stable in the old fourth division. The gradual decline is due to the present owner who now has the club hanging on a cliff which he hopes falls over it as long as he gets as much back as possible for his failed tenancy.A man who became an almost fabled figure for his non existence in Torquay.Impossible to defend a man who if he had the chance would cover the country in concrete if it had financial gain.

Think Osborne will have to come up with another idea of intention wherever he heads next as the new stadium statement must be getting to the stage where even Worzel Gummidge would realise it may be a lie!

Mike Bateson knew the limitations of the club but was an astute businessman, sold players on when he saw a profit but also purchased new players within means .He didn't overspend but also saved where he could so more money could be ploughed into the team.He was an owner not looking to make from the club as so many have done since and due to this sustained then fourth division football regularly .The club moving forward has to be supported financially whoever takes it over. The worry is if you have many directors then they all have different opinions in which way to go and potentially it leads to arguments in which rather than benefitting the club could end up stymying it.

Whatever transpires with whoever takes over can only be of benefit and the TUST have the clubs best interests at heart which is different from the previous/current incumbent. How refreshing at Easter to end the life of the one who tried his best to kill us off and hopefully soon have a rebirth with more promise.Happy Easter.

Everyone at Port Vale hates him so what - As he was beaten up badly by some of their so called supporters no wonder he couldnt wait to jump ship. Inexcusable i'd say.
Who knows he might not even be involved but he's got plenty of financial clout behind him and turns up to watch his team play - there are 2 redeeming qualities for starters.
If we do get a new owner then that will be a plus. I'd just rather give whoever it is a chance before carping before the ink dries on the contract.

Neither appear to have any redeeming qualities.
I'm no expert and doesn't sound ideal but I guess as an analogy if your on the Titanic and there's one lifeboat available to save yourself you have to take it.

To my mind anyone wanting to take over the club and put money in to it can only be an improvement, the fans may not be able to continue funding the club particularly out of season when minds are on other matters.Whatever Norman Smurthwaite is like as a person has no justification for "fans",to beat him up .He has every right to forget about football altogether after that.

A good reason to pay TUST Go Fund Me so Osborne won't be able to get his mitts on it.
