The three stooges will be impossible to remove .goody2449 wrote: ↑21 Feb 2018, 08:19![]()
I agree, we were so deep it made it easier and easier throughout the game for Sutton to pile on the pressure, at 1 nil then 1-1 I’d suggest we were probably the better team, granted we didn’t create much but neither did they, a second lucky break for the 2nd and all we had to do was hold on for 2 mins till half time. Their keeper was brave and just solidified the fact we were so deep and not pressuring enough, except romain Elliot who I think would run all night! (The ref wasn’t great, but we knew that we realised who it was, but he was worse for Sutton, how he gave our first, shocking really. Little mention for the Sutton bench, they were abusing fans in bristows all night, not good to see!).
Second half we gave away a sloppy goal, from another set piece!!!! Makes you wonder what they do in training all week, but then again, 3 mins injury time and we can’t hold on to, what would of been a good point. How many times this season have we conceded in the last 5 mins of games! So frustrating, the fat lady is walking to the stage for a solo vocal I think!!! Owers has to go, Harrop also(though he won’t!!)

Unfortunately when the club is relegated to the SL I can't see it hitting the ground running whoever the manager is though doubt it will change as Owers is achieving what Osborne wants the demise of TUFC and for him the sooner the better .If the team made a miraculous resurgence in the SL then Osborne becomes further away from killing it off for his bigger plan.I can only see a manager if not Owers then someone of his "quality ",to continue the slide into the abyss so that Osborne is that much closer to claim the club is unsustainable and strengthen his hand for the freehold. As Osborne admits he's not a football man which is why he's called in his clueless henchmen too to help wield the axe.

Never a truer word said, unfortunately his plan is working to perfection and the first nail he intended is in the coffin, the greasy owner of TUFC is slowly sticking the knife in and twisting itSenorDingDong wrote: ↑20 Feb 2018, 21:55 He'll push us into part time citing 'business reasons' knowing full well that a part time system will not work in our geographical location and it'll further undermine the club and see us struggling in NLS to ever decreasing crowds, laying the groundwork for the next stages of his attempts to get hold of the freehold.

It doesn't make it any better of course not the point I'm making is that in any situation motivation can make an individual put in that bit extra. It may not change the result but within a team it may do and Owers whether its being interviewed or dealing with the players has about as much personality as a wet lettuce.Always gives me the impression he's just returned from a funeral. So if you think that has no relevance in boosting players then our views are miles apart.

At present the manager is dragging us into the Sl with no fight or passion just stands there taking in the game,no motivation for the players or man management skills,I would rather get relegated with someone like Nicholson who at least showed he cared and gave his all than this clown who couldnt run a circus or perhaps he is.

Who cares the only facts that count is Nicholson kept us In this league for two years and Owers won't so that judges the better manager in my eyes.

Agree to give someone only four games at the start of the season then remove him without having a recognised replacement at the ready seems ineptitude of the highest degreeSouthampton Gull wrote: ↑17 Feb 2018, 07:50 Which 8 players? Name them Terry, then we'll see the benefit of talking about something you've only heard on the radio..............when you could be bothered that is.
Nicholson did a good job with the tools he was given. Merse does have an obsession with Nicholson and it's based on how he was given the job not on his ability as a Manager. With the ridiculous financial constraints he had to endure he still successfully completed his remit which as our former CEO has already confirmed was to keep us in the National League on a very low budget.
To be given 4 games after assembling a squad over the summer is ridiculous beyond words and we've definitely reaped what we've sown.
With the budget Halifax have given him he will be able to sign the players he targets and not get laughed out of the room when the talk turns to money.

And there's the nub the owner won't stump up to him a small amount for disabled facilities so the envisaged stadium like the Bernabeu looks a while off yet.

Definitely not, they've employed the people that have got the club where they want it to be.Plainmoor78 wrote: ↑01 Feb 2018, 20:16 Well he ticked their boxes somehow. I'm not saying he should stay in that situation, but can you honestly see the current hierarchy appointing a competent manager?

If they keep him on after being relegated as they thought he was a NLS type manager then why did they think of employing him in the first place in a league obviously above his "talents".Plainmoor78 wrote: ↑01 Feb 2018, 20:01 If Gary owers was to keep us with great escape mk3 I don't think there will necessarily be the goodwill towards him from the supporters that there was for Kevin Nicholson.
As for will he stay. Well if he keeps us up then I think he will. If not I can see the club using the logic that he is a NLS type manager and keeping him on.

Sounds good in principle the problems are that it may be difficult for individual supporters to find that kind of money then afterwards if it were to happen are the on going costs .CO probably values the ground at much more than 750k if it were for building on so would want to retain I would think.Merse on an earlier post seemed to think that the council couldn't guarantee to hold the free hold due to the council officers changing over time and that the Torbay Development Agency has the power of the freehold. Not up on the legalities myself and your idea sounds good but unfortunately I doubt it could all fall into place as we wish. What I gathered from earlier posts is that TUST would not have the legal position to own/run the club.To my mind it needs not only finance but legally minded people to take things further if it were to reach that point. As you say a tangled mess at present.

Andy wears his heart on his sleeve and though I'm not a Torquay United supporter I guess any club that had a shed full of guys like him probably would have frightened off the Clarke Osbornes of this world a long time ago ,there's nothing wrong with anger over wanting your team to succeed,I should know!
