Ben Gerring HATES Torquay!

tomogull wrote: 20 Feb 2019, 19:45 I bet that Ben Gerring is secretly hoping Woking won't go up because his limited agricultural style of play is only just about effective in Nat League South, so Woking will need a better central defender (there are plenty around) if promoted and so Gerrring's services will be dispensed with. He'll probably go back to Truro, or maybe Taunton if promoted.
or maybe he will continue to grow his second hand car sales empire...

I heard he was re-branding to goons-on-wheels

I tend to agree with your sway, however... 3 points is 3 points.

Ben Gerring HATES Torquay!

I was referring to his constant efforts to propel himself into the not so 'lime' light... it was an update on the Facebook post, that is all...

:goodpost:

banter!! You have 'nailed it' - berating the ref for a split second decision, using match highlights and slowmo to form argument #DUMB

brucie wrote: 22 Jan 2019, 13:24 Because you would expect a referee to be able to spot what was tantamount to an obvious dive. How can Hall be blamed? he didn't make a challenge as such.

Brunt didn't have the ball and wasn't anywhere near it. He's running in the direction of the touchline for feck sake when the decision is given. Look at the reaction of Hall afterwards - He doesn't think for a moment that he has committed a foul.

Brunt and the rest of the Bath players can hardly believe it when the penalty is given. Also look at the referee - he isn't certain either as he clearly hesitates. Useless prick.
Ref view = split second with 1000 bath fans screaming AND as we all know he just gave us a Pen and for some reason they love to even it up!

Our view = watching a video time and time again.

Pissed off with the ref = fine, but to call him a prick for that??? I don't get it.... you prob lost money on the game

PhilGull wrote: 22 Jan 2019, 11:50 So why blame the ref? If all the energy that went towards berating refs was directed at the cheating players we may actually be able to change things.
Agreed, and my point was that I have seen penalties given for this before, call it 'wrong time, wrong place' but Asa still challenged regardless of Brunt running across him or not. At the end of the day we were not undone by the referee but by a crappy performance and lack of professionalism.

if the 'joke' decision is related to their penalty, then I think you are misjudging the situation. Whilst I am an advocate for Mr Hall, his challenge from behind in the penalty area with the player facing away from goal was needless and very high risk. I have seen many penalties given for this type of challenge.

With respect to game management, agree with Dave, to change everything after one defeat and it certainly wasn't a hammering would be ridiculous... think all the winning has gone to some peoples heads!

Teigngull wrote: 10 Jan 2019, 14:11 It's all very well what you say people, but what I am saying is, by having a thread about your closest rival for the title is fine by me in that sense.
But posting Lilly livered things like , their luck has to run out soon & hope they have heavy legs, Is showing weakness we can ill afford, it shows you have doubts the squad are up to the job in hand, show you have confidence in our players, they read these forums too. Get behind them, Be strong in your posts , but even if you are worried why let the opposition know ?
And to say TQ1 may not be even a Torquay fan is ludicrously daft , have you ever thought that he/she may be a fan of Torquay as well ?

Truro City end groundshare

Truro have improved recently, I embrace the buoyancy in mood BUT the realist in me suggests we wont simply go on and win every game! Let us hope the pitch holds out else will not be much TUFC football over the holiday period.
