Great post! I can't see anywhere we he has said the league is going to be won tomorrow or by Woking. Just a great bit information about our nearest rivals! Thanks for the update!

Truro City v TUFC New Years Day Venue Plainmoor.
I don't think Kalala gets the credit he deserves he's great on the ball and incredibly skillfull. His final ball maybe 2 or 3 times went astray in the NYD game. But overall he was making decent passes as well as taking players out of the game. Connor similarly can try and take on to many and get himself into trouble at times. I thought Kalala fitness seemed to struggle a bit and didn't seem as lively in the second half but still played well. When you think of this and the division above I think he's going to probe to be a massive asset over time. I love watching him play.tomogull wrote: 02 Jan 2019, 13:23 Anyone who was at Plainmoor for the two Truro games instead of 'watching' them on the radio will know that neither game was a walkover. In the Boxing Day game, Truro missed a gilt-edged chance to make it 4 - 3 about five minutes from the end which would have resulted in a nervy end to the match because Truro were throwing everything at us at that stage. Yesterday, I didn't think we played particularly poorly. It was more to do with Truro players closing us down very quickly which was obviously part of their game plan. Also, I didn't think Truro were over physical. Yes - there was a dangerous tackle on Liam Davis which probably should have resulted in a straight red card. But overall, I thought the ref was too card happy. I think most fair-minded fans on the Pop side would agree that Niall Thompson's first booking was very, very harsh. A foul yes - but not a bookable tackle.
Our fitness told in the end and two goals in the last 15 minutes came as Truro players visibly wilted. Up until then, the match could have gone either way. I agree with Gateman that Keating did make a difference when he came on. A shame he didn't get on the score sheet. Full credit to Truro for their part in providing two very entertaining games. They will be okay this season - mid-table at least.
You can't find fault with a team that has won nine games on the trot, but whereas most MOM posters put Kalala in their top five, he was not in mine. He is a very good player and scored a good goal, but he is also a frustrating player because he runs into trouble too often instead of releasing the ball earlier. A flaw in his game which he has to work on. Whilst it is great to see goals flying in, credit has to be given to the defence which is still the meanest in the league. As a defender many years ago in about Div 6 of the South Devon league, I appreciate good defensive play. Our back four, especially Kyle Cameron, have been immense all season and since Gary Johnson's arrival, we have seen what a good player Ben Wynter can be. And despite my initial doubts, Kiate has also shown he is a very capable central defender.
On the subject of the state of the ground, is it because of the wet weather and too many matches being played, or is it partly to do with a replacement groundsman not being appointed yet? Chris Relph was a terrific asset to the club and I think he is already being missed.
The ground is definitely not the fault of the new groundsman. The bad weather coupled with the fact it's had over double the amount of games it should have has taken its toll. I think the current groundspeople are doing an awesome job to get it in the state it is.

Completely agree but the last 20 minutes we showed our class. I suppose that's the benefit in being full time is that we can pull it out of the bag if needed at the end of games. I thought the first Truro to game we played well but not sure what's happened in the 2nd and the Gloucester match. I'm sure it will all come good again come Saturday! In Gary Johnson we trust!Gulliball wrote: 01 Jan 2019, 22:53 75 minutes in, the home fans were restless, frustrated, shouting at the players and personally I was not confident we were going to win it. If that had gone on for any longer, it would only have got worse and worse. The second goal was nicely timed for us, and then Truro looked tired in the last 15. At 1-1 they would have carried on time-wasting, had an extra lift and who knows how it would have finished. Until we got the third it was not over, and we needed two long range strikes to get in front. No-one at the game would describe that as a comfortable or comprehensive win.
Like Saturday, a win is fantastic, but the performance wasn't as good as they have been recently. It looked a bit disjointed in attack, and quite a few of the players tried to do too much themselves or score a wondergoal, when there was a simpler pass on. After Saturday I think a fortnight off will do us a world of good, and the pitch will probably like it as well.

Absolutely spot on!Modgull wrote: 01 Jan 2019, 18:40 Reid - two very well taken goals, worked his socks off and spread the play nicely when he came off his marker and took the ball to feet
Kalala - he terrorised the defence and they had to resort to illegal methods to stop him, eventually going down to 10. Well taken goal
Janneh - tremendous work ethic and ball skills, unlucky not to get on the scoresheet
Evans - showed what we missed on Saturday - assured link up play in midfield
Davies - showed some excellent skills down the left flank and made some telling tackles. Their goal did come down his wing though.

Andrews, Evans, Hall, Kalala start I reckon. If Edwards is coming back from injury he would probably come on for Kalala for the last 20. Not sure where Keating would fit but reckon he will make an appearance at some point. I think there's room for everyone on the bench isn't there? If not I think Olaf will unfortunately be waiting a bit longer

Seemed a lot better yesterday. If reserved seating is going to be the norm it will take a few weeks to get used to. The scanners will be fixed or upgraded. This WILL eradicate the issue view1 had originally (although it won't control the thugs who was unpleasant to them) then we can all sit together happily supporting the mighty gulls!

Disappointing game but 3 points are 3 points! Not sure what's wrong with Reidy he doesn't seem to be getting on anything at the moment. Plenty of effort and movement but doesn't seem to get himself into the position he was earlier on. Onwards and upwards a nice 0-5 on New Years Day will restore order to plainmoor!

"Clearly though if I enter the ground early enough and there are enough spare seats I don't want to be given seats in different blocks"
Kind of sounds to me you want to guarantee your seats????
A seat allocation would solve this for you!
