Season Ticket pricing.

No issues with the price increase at all. Will be buying my first ST in well over 10 years this season. Partly due to stepping away from playing regularly in the Devon/peninsula league but also due to being much more behind the club as a whole.

Think they could do something better regarding the kids ticket pricing, but every penny is going to be spent on the club, whether it’s on or off the pitch improvements and I’m more than happy to put my money towards that, as I think others should too. Seen some huge overreactions on the Facebook group already but hopefully people will realise everything is done with the club in mind.

Very much in the Matt Jay camp, of scoring 8 in 12 games, to get Northampton promoted (whilst on loan) via a play off final at Wembley. Hasn't found the next regularly in namely league 1 since then. Time to play regularly and score goals.

Would be surprised if we aren't interested.
Would be a great signing but can imagine there will be interest from a lot of teams higher than us in the pyramid

Rohan ince 6’3 holding midfielder and can also play defence released by woking. Definitely has some qualities we’ve been missing.

Thought a few more were going to be released, and had heard hasani was off but we’ve offered him a deal. Would assume the budget will be considerably larger this season and I look forward to seeing who we bring in.

Lapslie is basically a guaranteed signing and although he’s an obvious improvement in midfield if he’s gonna miss 15+ games again that’s no good. I’ve heard of a few that are leaving already(midfielders) that are a surprise but will wait too see the retained list to see if that’s true.

Exeter have released both Angus Macdonald and cheik diabete, silly season indeed but would be 2 cracking signings if neither wanted to relocate and we could afford them.

End of term report

All in all it’s really been a great season. Highest average attendance since the 70s, Warnock being involved and finishing just 2 goals from promotion. Although a shame to miss out like we did, not getting promotion may be a blessing. Other than Young Dreyer and Matt Jay I’m not sure how many of the rest would actually cope with the step up and I believe we actually overachieved this year.

Looking towards next season it’ll be interesting too see how many actually stay and I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a lot of ins and outs. It’s pretty much 100% certain lapslie is signing so let’s hope he can stay fit. I’m fully behind Wotton and expectations for next season will be promotion, I’d like us to add some more pace into the side especially on the wings as that’s one thing I think we’ve really missed all year and really Matt Jay needs to be playing central. If Dreyer has another year I would hope we would try and offer him a longer deal too before he inevitably leaves on a free in the future.

Paul Wotton - like, not keen or indifferent?

I feel this thread deserves a bump to the top because some still believe Wotton hasn’t done enough, that’s fine to think that and different opinions on such things make this all a bit more interesting.

However my personal opinion and I know it’s shared by many is that Wotton has done a magnificent job, to have finished the 46 game season where we have is beyond any expectation I had pre season. I like a lot of our players and without trying to be negative I really think the squad of players we have, we have massively overachieved.

We have given ourselves a great chance to get promoted with the home advantage. Attendances are better than they’ve ever been in my lifetime, everyone’s behind the club.

But other than maybe young Dreyer and of course Matt jay, we have a squad of non league south players, for the most of them this is their level, the point I guess I’m trying to make is Wotton has taken a squad of relatively average players within a couple goals of winning the league.

I’m very proud of this team, and some of these players have done more in 40 games than most of the dross we’ve had over the last 5 years, but I really believe that we have finished where we are because of a manager that really makes a difference. Some may disagree, that’s perfectly fine, but other than maybe 3 players we are very much a national south level squad and to be where we are right now is not only a huge achievement but something to seriously build on. Some will still have their reservations over Wotton, that’s fine, but for me he shows passion, belief and will take us into the national league whether it’s this year or next.

Paul Wotton - like, not keen or indifferent?

So far so good for me. I love his passion and think he’s done a very good job. I would have to say we’re probably exceeding the pre season expectations at the moment, even though deep down we all want and think we should be winning this league.

My only possible negative would be that I know a couple lads who have played for woots in the past, and haven’t had the nicest stuff to say about him, however if you aren’t good enough/don’t do stuff right he will let you know about it and as seen with a handful of players already this season, if you aren’t up too it you’ll be gone.

He’s only done half a season and we’ve been averaging over 4K since Xmas, his name gets chanted every game and we’re challenging for a title. I can see him being here for quite some time and hopefully being quite successful too.

Small piece on him when signed for the posh, looks like someone with a lot of potential and a handful of games last season in this league.

Potential Buyers

Think it’s absolutely mental that we don’t even know who the preferred bidder is and yet we have people already slagging off the rumours or suggesting we don’t want this or that. CO is gone and if he didn’t get his way with the ground the next man won’t either.

I’m just glad we had a preferred bidder and if that falls through then I’m sure the TUST & consortium will still take over.

Good news, hopefully!

Seeing as they like to still remain anonymous, that would mean that it won’t be the TUST.

Please please don’t let it be Edwards.

Torquay United v Yeovil Town, Tues 7th Nov, 7:45pm

First game I’ve managed to make this season, due to my own playing commitments.

The first… 6 minutes maybe were great.. I thought some of comments being banded around were over the top but they’re really not at all. I feel sorry for a lot of our players, they’re better than this, but this is the first match I’ve seen in about 6 years where I haven’t been able to make out what formation we are actually playing. Individually I think we do have some very good players especially for this level, but oh my why are we making so hard for ourselves.

It’s hard to criticise any individual other than Johnson at this point. There isn’t really much else you need to say, we could have at least tried to have a game plan. Minus a great streak from mcgavin and some poor finishing were very lucky it wasn’t 6 or 7. We have to be better at than this

Of course I am happy we won but jeez we make bloody hard work of it.

As for experienced manager .....other managers are available !!
Since when has seale hayne been plastic?

Some of us really need to get over the fact we’ve been relegated, months ago now, enjoy another away win and focus on hopefully another 3pts Monday.

New Signings for the 2023-2024 Season

Lewis Collins has signed and what a signing that is! Looking like we are going to start next season with a better squad than we started with last year if we can continue this way.
