I used to go to Hornchurch FC when they were in the Athenian League as a child, around 60 years ago, when West Ham were away. I'm making a nostalgic trip there on Saturday., meeting an old school friend for a pint in The Windmill. (I knew it as The Bridge House)
My route will be Paddington to Romford on the Elizabeth Line, then the 248 bus to Upminster Bridge.
As previously stated, an athletics ground with a pitch stuck in the middle. We used to have our school sports day there.

Playoff Final Vs Hartlepool at Ashton Gate
What a rip off at £41 + handling charge for a game between 5th tier clubs. Money-grabbing tinpot league. Please let us win and get out of it.

Attendance against Eastbourne?
I bought my ticket for Saturday for the Popside this morning (just in case). I was surprised to find a queue, and the club told me that all areas are selling very well, including Popside. Heads up, folks.

Ticket sales
I don't understand the restrictions placed on concessions. Having waited many years to qualify for a concession ticket, I will be a little peeved (to put it politely) if these have gone and I have to pay full price.
Having said that, I'm retired , and can be in the queue when they open.

Billericay v Torquay United 9/3/19
First visit to Billericay. Good stadium for non league, apart from the sloping pitch. Staff and stewards friendly. On the pitch, a different matter. O'Hara (no. 4), ex Premier League, was very dominant and rather nasty in his tackles. With a good ref, he would have been off after kicking a player (can't remember who) on the ground after a nasty challenge which should have been a yellow.
I thought Hall had an excellent captain's game. Right in the middle of it, talking to the ref, throughout the game, especially when Tricky Ricay lost the plot towards the end. Very poor losers.
Excellent win, excellent all-round performance.
