Torquay v Chesham Sat 5th April 3pm
According to Football Web Pages, our average attendance so far this season is 3775 which includes 2 games in the FA Trophy. If my calculations are correct, by ignoring the Trophy games, our average attendance for league games only is approaching 3840. If a list of the top 20 attendances for a single game in NLS was compiled, apart from Maidstone's home game against us 3028, we may well occupy the other 19 positions.Taelee73 wrote: 02 Apr 2025, 21:02 If we’re only 20% up on last seasons average gate of 2500, then anything over 3000 is actually a bonus. I think I’d guessed at 3800 which may be too high tbh.
Anyhow, 4-1 home win as we seem to be in a good place at just the right time.

The Drama of the next 49 Days in the NLS
I listed the fixtures of the top 8 teams for the rest of the season. 5 of the 8 have to play 3 games each against the other contenders, Boreham Wood and Maidstone 2 games each and us 1 against Truro. It all depends on how well we do of course but the other 7 will at least be nicking points from each other.

Staying Up - Relegation Battle
Some teams have been at or near the bottom of the league all season, others have gradually drifted towards the bottom whereas we, from a position of relative safety have been unceremoniously dumped into a relegation battle by someone who the players don't know and possibly may never even have met. Their mindset wasn't focussed on relegation and that could be the problem. 2 games to go and all we can do is get behind the team and hope.

There is a documentary on the internet called Gate Money which details what the National League did with the lottery grant given to the league to help clubs through the pandemic when supporters were not allowed to attend matches. It is well worth an hour of your time.

Injuries.
It is good to read some sensible well thought out views on our current injury situation.
Most mornings and late at night, I listen to the sports updates on Radio 5 and over the last few weeks I have become increasingly aware of PL managers referring to the amount of injuries restricting their team selections and causing an imbalance in their squads, the latest being Manchester United. If these teams with their enormous resources are struggling, then we are not alone.

Club Statement - 08/11/2023
After more than 50 years of working for various companies usually directly with the owners, I came to realise that they are mostly interested in only one opinion, their own. I overheard one owner say "It's my f*****g company and I will do what I want". If that is the mindset of CO, I fear for the future.
