Hammer & [[/b]Tongues conjures up a picture!Modgull wrote: ↑20 Apr 2024, 19:39 What an enjoyable match and great result! Two sides going hammer and tongues at each other, playing great passing football, but one with a cutting edge and the other without. Certainly United were flattered by the scoreline but we were treated to the goal of the season from Booth - worth the admission money on its own. We had 22 attempts, 10 on target plus 2 hits on the woodwork, and 5 goals. For me, Booth was the game changer - up until then it looked nip and tuck but Lapslie's injury and a straight like for like replacement by Booth allowed him to boss midfield and allow McGavin the time necessary to use his one-footed turns to good effect. Although the latter was the sponsors MOTM, I thought Booth was the stand-out player. There were other fine performances though - from Jenkins-Davies, Archer and Jude-Boyd (who richly deserved the YPOTY award) in particular and I thought Hall was immense early on at the back making two crucial goal-line blocks at the point when the two teams appeared well-matched. It was great also to see assured cameos from the two youngsters in the closing stages, Thomas and Wellington. No one played badly.

Thank you Louis for running the prediction competition throughout the season, it was more interesting than events on the field.
Congratulations
to Incredigull for coming out on top. I was reasonably pleased with my 11th place.
Thanks again.![👍](//cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/twitter/twemoji@latest/assets/svg/1f44d.svg)

Torquay United v H&W Sat 20th Apr 3pm
.......And after my correct score on Tuesday, I will predict;
Torquay 3 Havant & Waterlooville 1.
Let us put on a show, now that we are safe on the pitch, even if we have lots of work to secure our NLS place with the new owners.

So the winning bid had more money, which means the TUST had insufficient.tufcjon wrote: ↑17 Apr 2024, 17:42 That is incorrect. The TUST-led consortium bid has not fallen by the wayside through lack of money. The bid satisfied the requirements of the administrator and the National League. There was an alternative bid that was chosen in preference to it.
Let us hope that the administrator’s decision proves to be the correct one, that the deal goes through and sees a future just as bright but even better funded than the TUST consortium bid.

Taunton Town v Torquay United Tues 16 April KO 19.45.
I woke up this morning after a unbelievable dream......I drempt that we played a match with the entire squad putting in a shift, a fantastic performance and a 2-1 win.
I am still rubbing my eyes, did it really happen? A minor miracle.
Yes, I will be there on Saturday hoping to see much of the same. I am so relieved!
I agree do NOT want Dawson, Jarvis etc to take any part in the celebrations, they should leave before or just not turn up....like they have all season.
I would like to see Thomas and under 18 stars given a chance against Havant.

Looking bleak for Taunton now. They have to beat WSM on Thursday and may even need to win on Saturday as well. It could be goal difference between Taunton and Eastbourne..,......but who cares, we are SAFE. Just need to sort out the administrators and have a plan in place for providing a bond to continue in NLS......do not let us fall foul of their rules, after the teams efforts in last two weeks.
I need to sleep...bloody exhausting!

No .....Taunton would be five points behind with two to play.Minneapolisgull wrote: ↑16 Apr 2024, 20:57 Great first half, 45 minutes to go...
Am I correct in assuming that if we hold on for a win there is no way we can be relegated?? No matter what happens to other results
