Injuries.

Torquay United's treatment room must either be the largest in non-league football or else be jam packed as a significant number of the squads over the past few years have spent more time in there than on the field! Either that or they're sat in the stand for more games than they're actually on the pitch.

I've nothing against Kevin Dawson and don't wish him ill will. However, to a degree, he is in an enviable position being on, no doubt, a very decent salary while not being able to 'work'.

In my layman's opinion it's time that Gary Johnson and his brother joined his son in the dole queue!!

Torquay United v Truro City, Boxing Day 3pm.

I watched the match on the National League site with my son, a Truro City fan, (we live in Cornwall) and son-in-law who's from Dunfermline and supports Raith Rovers.

My son was honest enough to admit that after their goal, Truro really went into their shell and could consider themselves a little fortunate to have held onto their lead. However, credit to them as they were fully committed in defence.

My son-in-law could not understand how inept Torquay were, especially the amount of space they allowed the opposition. He thought pre-match that the standard might be similar to Raith Rovers v Ayr United in the Scottish Championship that we watched on Friday evening.

In hindsight, either of those two Scottish sides would have beaten the full-time professionals (I use that word advisedly) at Plainmoor by at least five or six goals.

I realise that the current management team will not be departing anytime soon and reiterate my prediction made earlier this season that this will mean a long spell in this division or, possibly, at an even lower level.

Torquay United v Truro City, Boxing Day 3pm.

10th defeat of the season for a full-time club in a pub league.

If Mr Johnson had any self respect he would do the honourable thing and 'fall on his sword'.

There were better players in the Rolle College side I played in more than 40 years ago.

Torquay United v Bath City, Sat 4th Nov. 3pm

Before all of those wearing rose tinted spectacles get too excited we should introduce some reality.

When Gary Johnson was appointed the club was in National League South and went on to win the division. Today the club is in National League South and has as much chance of winning it as Lord Lucan riding Shergar has of winning the Derby.

In addition, the club is several million more in debt to the elusive Mr Osborne than it was when Gary Johnson was appointed.

In my humble opinion, hardly a cause for celebration.

If de Silva is available he is unlikely to add any quality, as it is apparent that he is a lightweight.

Marshall would be better off playing rugby for Torquay Athletic, as he is either dragging the opposition to the ground of handling the ball!!

Let's be honest, this is a shambles of a squad in which the two most able players are 36 and 37 respectively.

I'm looking for employment and will put my name forward as a replacement for Kevin Dawson. I wouldn't mind earning in the region of £800 a week for doing nothing!!

I don't make predictions. I just hope that loyal fans enjoy an entertaining game whatever the outcome.

Finally, I'll ask again, just what does Peter Johnson do? He certainly hasn't recruited any talent during his much too long tenure.

I agree that abuse is unwarranted and futile. However, the managerial personnel - I'd label them mismanagement personnel; that's an opinion and in no way abusive - have themselves to blame to a degree with their attitude towards a loyal fan base.

If the protocols are similar to rugby, I imagine he won't be available next Saturday.

I'm not sure of the procedures after a week's 'rest'.

I made an unforgiveable error referring to Dobson when I meant Dawson. Must have been thinking of Kojak and Kevin Dobson, who played Crocker.

Mind you, he'd probably make a better fist of playing football than some of the dross masquerading as footballers in yellow and blue!!

If Gary Johnson did have the resources to recruit four or five players, judging by his record to date most of them would spend more time in the treatment room than on the pitch.

I'd like to pick up Dobson is on a month to do sweet FA.

I agree with the first two paragraphs of your post.

However, this individual is a serial offender. He was banned for drink driving and subsequently drove at 98 mph on a motorway while disqualified.

I would respectfully suggest that behaviour is more than a mistake.

With all due respect, letting one's self down with drink - i.e. George Best - does not compare with drink driving.

The former is, admittedly, foolish, but the latter is criminal.

My reference to a police chase was stating a fact. I am aware that drink drivers have killed all too often without being involved in a pursuit.

I disagree with Dave. It is human nature to judge others.

This individual has been convicted of one of the most despicable crimes that does not involve physical violence - i.e. drink driving. He was involved in a police chase whilst drunk at the wheel. He is fortunate that he didn't kill himself and, more pertinently, an innocent motorist.

Definitely not a role model for young fans.
