So refreshing after the Kremlin’esq regime of the last few years. Obviously successful businessmen and true fans who spoke in supporter’s language not business world jargon.
I look forward to hearing more from them as the season develops!
Thanks to both of them!

What were we promised before, marquee signings, we k ow where that went! As one poster mentioned a while in from the marquee signings, “more like a boy scout’s tent!”
For me, PW knows what he wants and how he wants to set up. May be we don’t have a 30 in 40 striker, but what if they all manage 15 each, a couple of midfielders 10 each, we would be on our way.

I really dislike the disrespectful term “pub league”! A few years ago, some would have referred to the NLS as a pub league but unfortunately we find ourselves in it!
Ash under a different coaching team and with a happier more buoyant crowd may have a completely different season, instead of fluffing some decent chances, he starts to take the half chances as his confidence should be higher.
Let’s not forget that one of TUFC’s favourites in recent years, Tim Sills could never cut it in the football league but had a very good NL (Conference) record, which done would consider a pub league as it’s outside of the EFL.
There are some stars to be found lower down the pyramid, you never know, we may just have found one!
Last year was yes a horrid season, but the so called pub league player Ethon Archer certainly tried to put a shift in and stepped up the two divisions gap. Not a superstar but equally not out of place either.

The only club Jarvis has ever really had his goal scoring boots with him was with us, interesting to see how he goes...

It will be interesting to see how Brad goes this season under a new coaching team and onboard a hopefully much happier ship ![👍](//cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/twitter/twemoji@latest/assets/svg/1f44d.svg)

With Jamie Richards having moved on, I think he’d be a good partner with a Josh Jones. They are recruiting and hoping for a better season than the last one. A good club to get some game time at and start his coaching career.

Calum Thomas has signed for Tiverton Town, good luck young man!
Hopefully a good season for him and that he finds his way back in to the pro ranks.

Good luck to those who are moving on, it will be interesting reading to see where they end up.
I think Thomas, Lovett and Archer are perhaps a touch unlucky not to be retained. In Archer’s case, there’s plenty of Southern and Isthmian Premier sides he’d now walk into plus lots of NLS / NL sides in the area.
On the goalkeeping front, Zak Baker has had a great season at Tiverton on loan from Plymouth, would they like to see him step up a level?
Looking forward to seeing how things progress.

One could argue that Torquay to Newton Abbot is hardly scouting…. This would indicate that last year’s management / coaching staff didn’t ever bother looking very locally!
How did we discover Archer miles in Sussex….? A recommendation rather than us actually spotting him one assumes?

It would be great to welcome some Argyle fans to Plainmoor, here’s hoping! That’s what the football community is all about.
Also hoping that Rooney’s time in Green & White is a more successful one than his time in Brummie blue!
Great picture of the ground too![👍](//cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/twitter/twemoji@latest/assets/svg/1f44d.svg)

New role for Gary
I can’t bring myself to say “good luck to the bloke” but neither will I say anything nasty..... Whilst we did have some good times with him, we know what we also had! Should he have gone at the end of the relegation season, yes! Should be have done the decent thing last season and resigned, an even bigger yes! All he did was trot out excuses and blame others whilst taking money under false pretences!

Re the players mentioned above:
• McGavin, I’ve said before has talent, is capable of spraying great passes and certainly has an eye for goal, but he’s a luxury player that would look good in a good side where others can do the running for him. Unfortunately last season we couldn’t carry such a luxury.
• Stobbs was good early on but faded. Is this a case of him being disgruntled in a poor side or actually it’s his personality and the reason why he’s not played regularly at a higher level club. If he’s prone to lazy spells, not what W and W will want!
• Jarvis good luck to him, he’s done well for us, but as we know his goal acting record prior to that wasn’t very good.
• Lapslie (apologies is he under contract?) if not, can we help with his rehabilitation but not offer wages as he won’t be playing.

Agree, match the collar to the colour of the hoops it wouldn’t be the worst. Blue shorts and yellow socks would work.

Begbies Traynor Administrators of Torquay United.
Apologies if anyone has mentioned this in any posts which I’ve missed but reading those accounts it’s not just the fans and local population of Torbay that the club needs to re-engage with it’s the (local) businesses who have been left dangling!
I wonder if under the terms of the CVA we could offer advertising / sponsorship as a means of repayment? E.g. we owe ABC Ltd £2,000, would they accept a half way line advertising board for the season?
Just thinking of ways to maximise cash flow.
