Taunton Town.
It's off. This groundshare really isn't going well. Still 20 games to play, and only March and April left.

Osborne gone!
As I was already on here before CO pulled the plug, It was a good place to start for a bit of DD, and in business you often learn the most before you show your hand.Taelee73 wrote: ↑24 Feb 2024, 08:46 Yeofan, what a petulant child you are, it’s all about you.
You came on here asking mundane vague questions and start stamping your feet when told we have more important things to worry about. To then proclaim like you’re the next Alan Sugar, flippantly use his catchphrase when we’re in dire needs, tell us you could have helped save us, what a moron. Why not just say from the start that you know a little about fundraising, I’m sure people would have answered your questions then.
Anyhow, good riddance
I hate seeing clubs going to the wall, and am pleased to have been able to play my part in helping avert it on a few occasions. I'm delighted that you seem to have a buyer lined up, and that any help I could have given isn't wanted. As I have already posted several times I wish you all the best and hope it works out.

Fair enough. I'm extensively involved with startup funding, and have, in my time invested ( succesfully ) in several football clubs. I also have a lot of contacts on the UK BA circuit. If you want to attract a buyer you need to be prepared to answer questions, and also be receptive to potential interest no matter how unlikely the source.Southampton Gull wrote: ↑23 Feb 2024, 22:10 My posts on that thread certainly stand the test of time.
Yeofan, we're not here to answer your questions. Right now we've seen our club escape the clutches of a despicable businessman and are focussed on moving forwards and onto better times. Respectfully the concerns of fans from other clubs don't matter.
However , as they say on DD, "I'm out". Hope you find someone elsewhere.

I don't quite understand the history here. Were you forced to borrow money off CO in 2015 ... was there no alternative ? What would have happened if you didn't ?Louis wrote: ↑23 Feb 2024, 20:34 The idiot isnt those you list, but the person that pulled the plug and made us face administration because he didn’t get his own way - not even attempting to sell the club first. He hasn’t been a saviour he’s put us in debt and done a runner. He can rot and I’m glad his name is all over the media for what he’s done. Perhaps this will stop him being able to ruin another club and build properties for his own greedy gain YET AGAIN.

Viewing from afar, the current problems seem to stem from taking out a loan in 2015 and being unable to repay it. If you borrow money beyond your means, then bad things tend to happen, and sharks like CO will try and profit from it. However that mistake is long gone now and you need to try and rebuild as best you can. I hope you manage it.

If Torquay can't afford his wages now, it's the right thing to have done.

Sorry to hear the news. I genuinely thought you would be our big rivals this season, and am shocked at how things are turning out.
If you get as far as Good Friday, bring some big buckets with you, you will find Yeovil fans will be generous (We've had our share of problems in the past as well) .
Good luck.

Make sure you give them a good hard game, as we now play then two days later on Thurs 11th, on the mudheap.

It's the biggest farce of a groundshare possible. 4 out 4 games postponed, so far with 20 games to play in 9 weeks now. It's always been a horrific mud heap of a pitch, absolutely no way they'll they'll get 20 games in on it between now and April.
Hopefully they'll switch our ( postponed ) game to Huish, and common sense says switch your game to Plainmoor.

It's an absolute S***show. A complete joke of a plan. There's now 20 games in about 8 weeks on that mudheap, with added complications of fixtures clashing with each other ( like Truro (a) for you ). The first 3 games since the groundshare wasn't announced have been postponed, not a promising start.TommyGunn wrote: ↑13 Feb 2024, 13:22 Why don't we ask if we can rearrange for tomorrow or to play the game at Plainmoor? They will be really struggling to get all the fixtures played within a realistic timescale. We don't want to be playing Truro and Taunton Tues and Thur the same week or something like that.
As I suggested earlier Truro should switch your game for 27th to Plainmoor, or else god knows when you'll be able to play it.

Whilst we had the vile Priestnall in charge, we were going nowhere but down. Like your owner, he was not interested in the success of the club and wanted to make money from the land. We are lucky to have a new owner who supports the club, and hey what a difference that makes. I fear you are going nowhere until you cut the cancer out of your club.WestLondonYellow wrote: ↑12 Feb 2024, 13:39 The only topic of discussion going forward needs to be about Osborne being ousted, it's that simple. Matters on the pitch are a mere symptom of the root cause of the issues. Fixing the results on the pitch will not fix the trajectory towards utter demise the club is on. Supporting and making noise for the players, will not fix results or the demise of the club.
Uniting on this one issue and being pro active and relentless, might give us a chance of saving the ground and ensuring a Phoenix Club can step in and have a ground to play on in the future.
The form on the pitch needs to be understood as a distraction and divide tactic, much like the recent breaking news about new stadium intentions, the online fans forum, and the steering group. All distractions from the true agenda. Are you (all of you) one who is going to apathetically swallow it and go along with it, or are you going to put up a real fight for our Club and our Stadium.

This is the only free hit Torquay are getting this season. Full timers vs half a part time team with Bridgwater college students filling in the gaps. Taunton will be going down this season. Make hay while the sun shines. I will be going along to see the slaughter so don't disappoint me ! You need to hit 2+ points a game from now on to have any chance of playoffs so now would be a good time to start
