Amen to that.Southampton Gull wrote: ↑23 Feb 2024, 12:38 He is nothing like Osborne at all. For a start he's a football man. I'll take that over Osborne every day of the week.

Torbay Council
I think the idea of playing at Buckland was because some people (may actually have been a single individual) thought we should start a Phoenix club whilst Osborne's Torquay United was still existence at Plainmoor. Daft idea.

Potential Buyers
The fact is the man Hector and Southampton refer to actually prevented Truro City going bust and they survive to this day, that is a lot more than Clarke Osborne ever achieved.
This guy is a football person and that is what we need right now and he would genuinely like to own this club, it was his ownership of Truro that prevented him buying the club off Thea Bristow.
From my point of view as things stand currently he is our best hope.
BTW my username in no way relates to said individual

So we've just escaped the clutches of a property developer with no personal interest in football and you suggest we should sell out to some property developers with no personal interest in football.

George Edwards OUT
Edwards is Osborne's henchman so will be leaving as soon as the administrator is appointed or upon a new owner coming in before hand. I would be very surprised if Edwards was at Plainmoor on Saturday, it wouldn't be safe for him.

I'd say the council got that one right. If they had sold it then it wouldn't be here now.Colorado Gull wrote: ↑22 Feb 2024, 16:44 Torbay Council will never change. The club has been fighting with the old geezers for decades. Even as a 7-year old, I can still recall our fans chanting "sell the ground" outside the town hall during our promotion parade in 2004. The sad fact is, our local officials don't really care all that much about the club, and the majority of our owners throughout those same years have felt the same.

More likely he's after Clark Osborne's job. Spencer Day is a property developer whose only previous experience of football management was at Chertsey Town, a club he actually owned. At Farnborough he has loaned the club £1 million.
Spencer Day was once known as Spencer Trethewy, the 19 year old yuppie who joined the board of the original Aldershot FC with a fraudulently obtained £200,000 loan. He eventually did jail time for fraud.

Taunton Town.
Wouldn't surprise me if Taunton (and possibly Truro) are expelled from the league and their record expunged, which is fine by us because we have no points to lose.

The reality is we are at the interface between full-time and part-time professional football where the worst full-time players clash with the best part-time players.Nick Potkins wrote: ↑18 Feb 2024, 19:41 No, I am pointing out that a full time and part time budget differ. We hear, there is the budget, but can it buy us what we require. The answer is, clearly, not at this current time.
If any of our current squad sign on for next season it will be because they couldn't get any thing better. We are the lowest ranked full-time team in the country and its going to take either a lot of money or a genuinely inspired manager to get us out of this. I'm not confident either way.
