Bryn Consortium Take-Over

Glad you made it through this. Despite being a Worthing fan and thus someone who knows you could be serious rivals to us next season, no proper football fan wants to see fellow fans lose their club. It was so nearly us 10 years ago but the good times did come back and actually got even better thanks to a genuinely good owner. Don't get too drunk tonight!

New manager announced - Paul Wotton

I'm sorry if you are all aware of this but I haven't seen it on your forum but you do know that you are still under a Transfer Embargo and thus cannot sign new players or offer new contracts to existing ones aren't you?

Next season.

Nicho is learning at Exeter and I can't really believe he'd come back.

Proven manager, but one that embraces new ideas, no idea who. But most definitely it needs to go out to external applications. Maybe the manager of Worthing, who play attractive attacking football?
Adam Hinshelwood was poached from us (Worthing) by York City a couple of months ago and we appointed Aarran Racine as interim manager while we wait to see which division we are in next season

Osborne gone!

Good luck from Worthing FC, it was so nearly us a few years ago but one genuine good guy believed and we've really kicked on from there.

Braintree v Torquay Sat 17th Feb 2024

If any of our current squad sign on for next season it will be because they couldn't get any thing better. We are the lowest ranked full-time team in the country and its going to take either a lot of money or a genuinely inspired manager to get us out of this. I'm not confident either way.
Both Havant and Eastbourne are full time so you're not the lowest ranked

Braintree v Torquay Sat 17th Feb 2024

Hi all, Worthing fan here in peace.

Re finances; at step 3 a decent striker is getting around £400pw and at Worthing a reasonable guestimate on our wage bill is approx £7,000 per week and our break even is a gate of 1,300 per game.

At step 2 I firmly believe you (Torquay) on your gates could afford either the best part time players or the lowest paid full timers, which decision you make has of course to suit your ethos/model but I know which I see as being more likely to be effective.

Good luck for the rest of the season
