Re: Other transfer talk

I heard that Torres will be on £155,000 per WEEK.

An adult on minimum wage, working 40 hours per week, would have to work for 13 YEARS to make that much.

Sick or what?

Yes we would have been, because our match was drawn first last time. Whoever won would have been ball number 1.

So as Man Utd v. Crawley was match number 7 in this draw, the winners (Man Utd of course) will be number 7 for the 6th round draw.

Re: Televised FAC 4th Round Games

ESPN and ITV are commercial tv stations. They rely on advertising revenue during the matches and possible sell-ons to other countries. Unfortunately, the tv audiences will be far bigger for premiership clubs than us, and so they will be able to charge far more for advertising slots during a Man Utd game than one of ours. Also who in Thailand, say, would want to watch us?

Yes, the selections were predictable, and if there is still another game to be shown, then it will be either West Ham v. Forest, or Notts. Co. v. Leicester or Man City, for those same reason.

Tradition, passion, etc., simply don't come into it.

Re: The away table...

[quote="Wisconsin_gull"]Still buzzing from the Wycombe demolition - I jumped on BBC site, pulled the updated table, threw it into Excel and generated (bish, bash, bosh) the latest away table - attached

You can save yourself some work by referring to this site:
http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D3/away.html

The 'Home' table is:
http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D3/home.html
which shows us as below average!

What may be more worrying is the current home form:

miltonkeynesgull makes it sound much better than it was. He said it was a 'horrible game' and that is a good description.

If you wanted to be harsh, both teams were sh*t, and you could say that either team might have been lucky to win. But I thought that overall, in the end, we were probably the better side and just about deserved to win. It wasn't pretty! Why do we constantly hoof or head the ball high and long?

As for miltonkeynesgull's ratings, I thought they were generous to Zebrowski as he did very little until the last 20 minutes, so much so that their left back was made man of the match. Also, giving Rose '6' is questionable. He did absolutely nothing before he got injured, and so the '6' can only be for getting changed and warming up.

This was my first game this season, so I don't how this compares to previous performances. But if this was 'normal' then it is easy to see why attendances are dropping off. If I still lived in Torquay, I wouldn't be going on a regular basis to watch that dross.

I'm still pleased we've won, which I suppose was the aim of the exercise, but it really wasn't very good.
