Oxford City home as someone we can beat, then 2nd round Plymouth Argyle at home as someone we can beat, then 3rd round Tottenham Hotspur away as someone we can beat (everybody else is!) ;-)

Yes I know I hope Nina spots the smiley at the end and realises I was not at all serious. I know she is passionate about the club and very knowledgable. If she doesn't realise that then I am ****! ;-)

standupsitdown wrote: 08 Oct 2019, 15:27 When do I and most of the crowd serve our bans for the Bryn the Police Dog Crewe game?
I was there and most of the crowd including me did not go on the pitch. There are always a few idiots in every crowd, though I appreciate that it is easy at the end of a season to get carried away with enthusiasm / joy / relief etc. Were the rules as strict at the time of the Crewe game? It was a long time ago and I don't think they were. Now the rules are strict and more importantly they are not only known by all football fans but are repeated in matchday programmes and over the tannoy as a reminder. At the last game of the season there must have been at least 6 tannoy announcements telling fans not to encroach on to the pitch at the end of the game. People who did go on to the pitch knew full well that they were breaching a clear rule and also knew full well that they could be banned for doing so. It is completely possible to be jubilant and joyful on the terraces. I have managed it all my life. Well, perhaps not always jubilant and joyful every year - it is Torquay United after all! ;-)

portugull wrote: 02 Sep 2019, 08:25 Did anyone see MOTD on Saturday Chelsea v Sheffield United?

Alan Knill is Assistant Manager to Chris Wilder. He was centre stage at the end of the game Sheffield coming back to draw 2-2 after being 2-0 down.

Amazing how fortunes can change in Football.

One of our least effective Managers of recent years now No 2 at a Premier League Club.
Very well deserved for an experienced professional man who is a decent bloke and took the way he was treated by Torquay United with dignity. He probably smiles when he thinks that his two successors were probably the worst 2 managers the club has had (though one of them is a nice bloke as well). Mind you it was all we could afford at the time.

Solihull Moors v Torquay United - Tues 6th August 19:45 KO

brucie wrote: 07 Aug 2019, 10:29 I don't see anyone suggesting you weren't the better side although everyone who went there seems to be suggesting that your ground/facilities were crap.

That's now the second time that you have said that you were the better team. If you come on an opposition board and keep repeating that people will soon percieve it as "gloating" and you will start getting some adverse comments.

I wouldn't get ahead of yourself - there is only two games gone after all.
Absolutely. I have always thought that people who go on other clubs boards persistently are twats so never take any notice of them. The odd visitor to provide some advice before an away game or to say 'well done' after we have won is fine. If he knew what he was talking about it would not be so bad. I have been visiting Plainmoor for 56 years now and have never had a problem finding a convenient and safe place to park even in the heady days of the 1960's and regular 10000+ crowds and occasional 20000 for cup games.

Gales forecast for the weekend so do not have much hope of Solihull having any stands or toilets left after that..... ;-)
