Torquay United v Aveley F C Saturday 24 Feb KO 3pm

knightmaregull wrote: 24 Feb 2024, 09:15 It's so good to wake up and actually be excited it's game day again! I personally will take whatever happens now and am convinced whatever the outcome is, long term it's better than had CO stayed.

Totally agree. Unfortunately I can't make it due to work commitments but I bought a ticket online anyway, (the first time I've spent money at the club since Osborne took over) and have now gifted it to a friend of the family from Dartmouth who has been experiencing hard times. Hopefully the feelgood factor will prevail no matter the result.

Taelee73 wrote: 24 Feb 2024, 08:46 Yeofan, what a petulant child you are, it’s all about you.

You came on here asking mundane vague questions and start stamping your feet when told we have more important things to worry about. To then proclaim like you’re the next Alan Sugar, flippantly use his catchphrase when we’re in dire needs, tell us you could have helped save us, what a moron. Why not just say from the start that you know a little about fundraising, I’m sure people would have answered your questions then.

I'm glad it wasn't just me that thought his post to be very condescending. A few too many ciders last night to be posting on the internet in all honesty but at least my beer goggles weren't too far off the mark.....

Yeofan wrote: 23 Feb 2024, 23:21 Fair enough. I'm extensively involved with startup funding, and have, in my time invested ( succesfully ) in several football clubs. I also have a lot of contacts on the UK BA circuit. If you want to attract a buyer you need to be prepared to answer questions, and also be receptive to potential interest no matter how unlikely the source.

However , as they say on DD, "I'm out". Hope you find someone elsewhere.
We're a fans forum and as such we don't need to answer any questions. I know that discussions are ongoing with an interested party, fingers crossed he or she can do a deal and secure funding to get us to the end of this season without the need for administration. After that it will be down to that person, not me or us on here. As a collective the fans need to get behind him/her and then who knows.

My posts on that thread certainly stand the test of time.
Yeofan, we're not here to answer your questions. Right now we've seen our club escape the clutches of a despicable businessman and are focussed on moving forwards and onto better times. Respectfully the concerns of fans from other clubs don't matter.

Where's the money going?

Edwards and Hayman were there today. If they dare to show their ugly mugs tomorrow I hope they get what they deserve. The sooner they slink off the better. Hayman has a lot to answer for and in time I will make sure everything comes out so people can clearly see the type of person she really is.

Peter Masters wrote: 23 Feb 2024, 19:04 You talk some nonsense, my good friend Mr Perryman will have something to say you if you have balls to ask him, ask any Truro fan, you clearly don't understand Truro City Football Club or its supporters.
Don't feel the need to justify yourself to culmstock, I'm sure the majority of fans would welcome your involvement after the last few years of impending doom. Thanks for fronting up but please don't allow his ilk to deter you as he's the first to cry wolf if he gets offended.

Torbay Council

The Great Muta! wrote: 23 Feb 2024, 15:22 This may not be a popular post, but I want to stick up for the council, even going back to Dave Webb, Chris Roberts, Osborne have all wanted the freehold on the land, and thankfully the council have said no, I just hope there's a Mike Bateson figure who's local, he wasn't everyones cup of tea, but I always thought he was a decent bloke who had the clubs best interests at heart, and he kept us solvent and debt free.
I'm with you

He is nothing like Osborne at all. For a start he's a football man. I'll take that over Osborne every day of the week.
