Re: CONGRATULATIONS TUFC!!!!

I hope you do as well, would be nice to keep our annual visit to Torquay even though the results have not gone for us for a few years. I think and hope the top 3 stay as they are.

However on my wish list is a scenario where we (Shrews) win against Rotherham and Vale, Torquay draw with Southend, and Crawley draw at least one of their next 2 games. We would be 4 points clear of Torquay and Crawley with 3 games to go!
Part 1 accomplished, move onto home match v P Vale on Tuesday, win that and we could be promotesd at Accy next saturday :)

Re: Torquay United v Shrewsbury Town - 11/2/2012 4th divisio

Well played today Torquay, listening to the match commentry, there wasn't much in it, I think we probably were lacking a little bit of a cutting threat today in what sounded an exciting game, and with both teams missing their front man, the chances at both ends were pretty even. I might be wrong but your goal sounded like it could have been partly attributed by a keeper error but i will have to see the highlights tonight.

Our away jinx at Torquay continues, we just dont seem to be able to buy even a point at your place which we possibly deserved today.

It's very much 3 from 6 with plenty of twists and turns to come

From a Shrewsbury perspective, confident we can get the 3 points off you when we play you. I think Torquay will do well to get points from the next 9

Hope someone 'does' Howe in a game soon.
I don't agree, 2 wrongs don't make a right. He does deserve more punishment than a 3 match ban.

For all the Torquay fans, I am afraid Howe is a scumbag who has tarnished your football team. You should get rid of him, on the evidence of Saturday it's not as if he offers much to your team, he is slow, overweight, lazy and has a poor attitude and Ling should get rid of him quick!

Re: Rene 'Thug' Howe

As a professional footballer Howe should be ashamed of himself and at least have the decency to make a public apology.

He is however keeping his head down. Due to the blatant intent of his actions I would think there is a possibility of legal action against the player and deservedly so!

Worst performance for many, many months. Far too pedestrian, no spark, no movement, no ideas, stupid, pointless 1-2s in the middle of the park, every pass going backwards, every player dreadful, Shrewsbury a poor, poor side as evidenced by their total lack of threat,
Just how can Shrewsbury be a very poor poor side? our current league record suggests different, as does our Carling Cup performances.

Today we did look a little tired but our back four excluded our 2 first choice absentees in Sharps (captain), Cansdel-Sheriff, and included our 3rd choice right back making only his 2nd first team start at the age of 18. They kept a clean sheet as well, that's squad strength in depth, it was a game we should have won by 4 or more really considering the chances we did not take but I will take the points.

I wouldn't say Torquay were poor, and played some nice football, it's just we are a better team that you give us credit for!

Re: Congratulations & Good Luck

Well done Torquay, fully deserved your victory through to the play off final. Please make sure you win the final for the sake of football as well as yourselves, not that I want to play Stevenage next season with their gamesmanship tactics.

My lad and i agreed last night that if we are honest Torquay have had the measure of us over the four games this season, in fact we were fortunate to get a draw in the home league fixture, and apart from Bury have been our most impressive opponents.

A big well done to you all, go and finish the job and hopefully we will catch up with you in League 1 for 2012/13 season.

Yes that is correct drums have been banned by our chairman. He found them annoying but also felt it helped teams away followings in creating their noise!

With it being on the red button, Boots and laces will still have it on?
To be quite honest if you sit back I can't see us getting 2 goals, we need Torquay to come at us a bit.

Plainmoor is a very tight pitch and allows you to close and play an effective pressing game, we have a nice wide large pitch so I think we are in for a very different game on friday.

Might be clutching at straws and looking for every piece of karma, but Friday is Shrewsbury's 125 birthday to the day, so all gifts presented to us during the game will be very much appreciated :)

Many are saving their money with it being on sky and the second leg to come. I would think their will be 700 to 800 making the trip.
