Re: Rovers get new stadium?

To be fair, Richinns, this is the Banter Board & Other Football section, which clearly states.....Banter with rival fans here, non TUFC fans welcome

Just pointing that out :-D

Why feel the need to comment then Richinns, If you dont give a toss? :)

I would never kiss a shithead, You'd be certain to catch a life threatening illness, even a handshake would be dangerous!

Re: Rovers get new stadium?

Oh it is absolutely true, Kinky John

All the drivel spouted from you shitheads was hilarious

Us Gasheads have no inferiority complex, we just love you lot thinking you are this "huge, gigantic, massive, giant of a football club!

When in reality you are just punching above your weight because of a sugar daddy spunking money the club doesn't have, you are spiralling more and more in debt and are now feeling the consequences

All banter aside, I hope you lot get your stadium too, so hopefully Bristol can move forward with the times and have two state of the art stadiums, and put Bristol on the map

But dont pretend you and your filthy red friends were not devestated when you heard the news

Re: Rovers get new stadium?

Its absolutely fantastic news for the club, a fantastic state of the art facility which he have needed for 26 years now

Bristol has been a backwater for so long, and it has been an absolute joke for a city of its size, now hopefully this will be brilliant not just for Bristol itself, but for Bristol Rovers football club and all Gasheads

It hasn't impressed our horrible red friends, who have all got the hump :'(

Now permission has been granted, all our efforts must be to get out of the mess that the **** McGhee left us in and survive the drop!

Hopefully this is the start of new, successful chapter for The Gas

Yet another example of overfishing..!! =D

As for survival in the Conference, it seems like the end of everything when you go down, but most clubs do survive, even if it might take a while to come back up. However, unless you have a billionaire benefactor, you will need to run a very tight budget.

It's time now, though, for Rovers supporters to really get behind the club and the team and give them your full support. Over the next few months that could be worth a dozen priceless points. :-D

We are all going to get behind John Ward

Only time will tell whether his return will galvanise the club, team and us Gasheads?

When Wardy was in charge last time it was fantastic to be a Gashead, even though we had no home, exiled in Bath and completely skint, we had quality players who had heart, spirit and were proud to pull on the quarters

Hopefully JW will get back to basics, pick players in their right positions and instill some pride back into the club, we sure as hell need it or it will be Goodnight Irene

Re: Chris Zebroski

Zebroski still commutes from Swindon, so I dont believe he has been arrested 3 times at all, If he had I am sure us Gasheads would of heard about it.

I think Zebs will do alright at Nam.

He always gave his all, and showed commitment for the cause, which you can't fault him for, but his actual footballing ability was literally non existant.

Ironically the glimpses when he did show something was against Nam and Torquay

If you put Carayols ability with Zebs workrate, we would of had a superstar :)

Good luck to him, he gives it all that's for sure

Richinns wrote: He played about 10 games for us when he showed he was worth that money. On his day he is unplayable. Nice little profit for you guys but personally think it would be a mistake to blow a considerable amount of it on Constable
I think Lincoln get 20% of that, so we should make about £400k which is still great business

I agree about Constable, Oxford are looking for about £300k for him, which is ludicrous, I think Mcghee has moved on from him now, we have took Dave Clarkson on trial after he was released by c*ty, if he can prove his fitness then he should be a real coup for this level. I still hope that with the Muzzy money we can bring in somebody like Izale Mcleod, but he has been training with Pompey

Hopefully we will see more transfer activity as we have only brought in a couple of loans and untried youngsters so far, and we are playing catch up already with the likes of Rotherham, Fleetwood and Southend, who I expect to be up there

Re: Muzzy On The Move ??

It looks like a fee of £500k has been agreed with Boro

That is a great fee for somebody who only started to show his real ability for 6 months

It will be sad to see Muzzy go, as he was phenomenal under Mark McGhee and IMO is the best player in the division

Hopefully the money will be well spent on other players of the calibre of Muzzy

Can I ask - are you guys a little bit gutted Luton and Buckle did not come up? Would have been nice for you to welcome him back to the Mem! We missed out on that opportunity of a friendly welcome back to Plainmoor has he had been culled by you lot by then!
Cheers Richinns

No, All of us Gasheads to a man, were cheering on York. It's a great City, and we have lots of memories there, Luton is a shithole and we can't stand the disgusting place, and of course Paul Buckle is a detestable, vile little cretin who is hated by every single Gashead.

We just want to concentrate on helping MM get us out of League 2 and and steering us into a succesdul new era

Muzzy has been superb

Hopefully building work will commence this time next year and we will be playing in The UWE stadium by the start of the 2014/15 season

We just have to wait and see what happens in regards to Sainsbury's buying The Mem, but it looks promising

Re: Muzzy On The Move ??

Sheff Weds and Derby are the latest clubs to show an interest

Rovers turned down a six figure sum from Derby yesterday

I hope he stays for another year, he was immense under MM, and IMO is the best player at this level by some distance

The lad is top class

Re: Chelsea

John Terry was disgrace tonight, absolute bellend

But take nothing away from Chelsea's resilience, I thought Ramires, Ivanovic, Cole, Lampard and Drogba were immense

Whether you love or loathe Chelsea, to have yet another English club in the final, against the odds, is to be applauded!

Excuse me, for my ignorance, but who do the Gulls face in your remaining games? I guess it's squeaky bum time for you lot at the moment :) I hope you manage to end the season with some glory! Us Gasheads hope you get promoted, and won't it be sweet to be a league above the Grecians and Argyle!! Good luck lads

Re: Did bad reporting harm the attendance ?

Hey Chaps, How have you all been?

I havn't been on here for a fair while, after that horrible cretin got the boot, I thought I would leave you guy's in peace for a while.

I just came back to say what a credit to the 4th division we both were yesterday, it was a cracking game with a fantastic atmosphere.

It is very nice to hear that us Gasheads impressed you yesterday, during the summer after the Paul Buckle affair, I think the relationship between us both became a bit strained.

But hopefully this has put all that behind us, and we can be mates :-D

I sincerely hope you get promoted come may, it is just unfortunate that Mark Mghee was not installed a couple of months sooner as I feel we would be up there with you too, but it came a tad to late.

Good luck for the remainder of the season, and fingers crossed you get a top three spot.

Re: Football Manager 2012..

Just finished my 4th season as Rovers boss, ended up 12th in The Championship.

When I started the game, Rovers were given a great budget for League 2, I managed to sign James Beatie on a free(Although he was on 6k a week wages), I also signed Marco Matterazi who is 37 but absolutely awesome at that level as you would expect.

Both of those as to be expected were immense, Beatie finished the season way ahead as League 2's top scorer with 44 goals and an average rating of 8.96, and Matterazi had an average rating of 9.07.

I played Beatie as a lone frontman(Targetman, Ball to feet) and Zebroski and Anyinsah as inside forwards(Swap Position), Zebroski got 17 goals and Anyinsah got 21.

The midfield with Wayne Brown(Advanced playmaker), Matt Gill(Centre Midfield,Support) and Craig Stanley(Anchorman) were decent but not that great, My forwards were just amazing, and they did the damage.

My defence was superb though, Matterazi(Ball Playing Defender, cover) and Adam Virgo(Limited Defender, Stopper) were absolute quality, I kept 26 clean sheets in the first season, and the full backs, Lee Brown and Danny Woodards(Wing Backs, attack) were fantastic too.

I use the formation I have used since FM10 which is the Barcelona possesion tactic of 2-3-2-2-1 with attacking, short passing, use flanks, absolutely amazing tactics, but they only really work if you use it with pacy wingers and have 2 decent full backs. I finished top of League 2 with 112 points, 19 points clear of Shrewsbury.

The following season, I recommended that Materazi had the attributes to be a good assistant manager, and he said that he could start right away if I wanted, So I got rid of Sean North and gave Materazi the job of player/Ass Man, his attributes were amazing so I offered him a 4 year contract, knowing that he will retire from the playing side probably within a season. I decided to keep the side that had won the league so easily the season before, because they had done so well, I only made 1 signing bringing in Leigh Bromby from Leeds for £35k, but some of the players didn't play that well at a higher level, Zebroski couldn't hack League One, and the midfield were awful, Beatie continued to be top class and bagged another 36 goals, and Materazi was again superb. I finished the season in 8th place.

The following season I got rid of Bevan,Lee Brown, Virgo, Stanley, Gill and Zebroski and brought in Jadal from Bournemouth, Cedric Avina from Oldham, Connor Clifford from Chelsea and Hogan Ephrain from Charlton, and they all turned out to be quality, I won the League with 97 points, and Beatie was again superb and scored 41 goals.

In The Championship I again decided to be loyal to the guys that got me promoted and only signed Ryan Shotton from Stoke for 1.5M, it was an ok season, a bit up and down, I didn't win for the first 8 games, drawing 5 and losing 3, then I went to Barnsley and won 4-1 and then went on a 9 match unbeaten run, beating the Sh*t 3-0 at home in the process, but again it went pear shaped after that again and I lost 5 on the bounce, before going on another little run and eventually finishing 12th. Beatie again was my top scorer with 24 goals.

I havn't found out what my budget will be for the following season yet, the chairman has been pretty generous with what he has given me previously and I have decided to not splash the cash up until now, So I have got a decent kitty for me to splash, hopefully the chairman will pump it up even more, so that I can bring in some proven talent to get me to the promised land.

This is definatly the best FM yet

Chin up, you are 6 points above that huge, massive club Bristol Rovers in the league, it's not all bleak you know :~D
