Re: Bristow's Bench / Grandstand Latest Pictures

weirdly enough, I actually to spoke to two M'Gladbach supporters in boots and laces before a tq game last year. Father and daughter, really nice people. She was staying over here to do a language course (and was quite hot!), and while her dad was visiting, they decided to come out in their Gladbach sacarves and watch an English game. Unfortunately we made the mistake of saying that we were going to Germany next month to watch a Dortmund game and have a look at Westfalenstadion. They were'nt too impressed!

Re: Fixtures Posters

It is annoying about the contact details, could have been better thought through. Pic is class though, I think Bodin could be awesome this year!
On the fact that only 300 are distributed by the club, i don't really think that matters too much, as the idea is for people to use the link to the pdf on the site, print their own, and then distribute those themselves. Last season I did a couple each month, and then gave those to a few mates working in shops in Torquay town, and always put another up at work. If we had more people doing that we could make an impression round the town.

Re: Has O'Kane Gone Yet?

If he does go, i'd like to see what Morris can do in the centre of the park. He hasn't really got enough pace to play on the wing, and I know some of our fans don't rate him, but against Crewe in the last home game of the season he had a blinder, played the match of his life and really showed his quality. If he could start pulling that kind of form out regularly we wouldnt miss Eunan.

Re: Sondico???

I agree it has to be about driving things forward, while at the same time making things timeless so as not to alienate fans who have supported the club for decades. And maybe for that reason, putting "THE GULLS' " on the back was going a bit too far! Especially as no one bothered to go on tinternet and spellcheck it.
Vandanel definately can be hit and miss, but lets hope sondico, in a bid to launch their new (and yet somehow non existant!) bespoke kit brand don't go crazy to make an impression. Id much rather they start slow and play it safe.

Re: Sondico???

I really disagree, and actually quite like the home shirt that we have at the moment, especially when you look around league 2 and see what some of the other teams are wearing. Lets just hope that when they change the manufacturers logos, that they also take off the ridiculous apostrophe. Oxford's kit is made by Nike, and to me it looks pretty average, and Argyle's kit (puma) also doesnt really jump out at me. I suppose its all subjective as I'l nearly always end up liking our strip, but I definatley don't think its any worse than many of the others floating around. (i.e Gillinghams Barbie change strip!)

Sondico???

Anyone heard any more about the new kit yet? Im pretty sure we're switching to Sondico as my step brother is in the centre of Excellence and recieved the letter saying that all team kits would now be made by Sondico, but have not heard of any designs, or press releases by Sondico, or anything at all on the web saying about us or Sondico kits. Pretty much every other league team has now released their new strip, or has announced a release date. Anyone actually know whats going on?

Re: Bodin back to Torquay!!

At the moment I'm still jobless and completely strapped for cash, what did i spend it all on? a season ticket, and it is looking like a hell of a good investment! The way things are now, we're securing the long term future of the club, have a new grandstand to bounce chants off, and it looks like we're making one hell of a push for promotion! even better, we have Argyle and City in the same league to show what we can do, and if this squad performs as it should, we can do great thyings.

Thanks Lingy/Baker, great effort! Welcome Billy.

Re: Has O'Kane Gone Yet?

Quote from the Rovers forum

"No disrespect to Torquay, but i cant believe a player with his talent would want to stay where he is."

and how is there no disrespect in that statement!? its utter balls, some Rovers fans STILL don't seem to realise that they're a league 2 club!
I used to work with kids, and it was the same story as here, any sentence that starts with "no disrespect" or "no offence" is bound to be disrespectful or offensive, so stop talking!
No problem with Blueboy though, its nice to here news from other teams, and as he said, every club has their fair share of idiots.

Re: Has O'Kane Gone Yet?

Lingy has already said he hopes with his heart that Eunan will stay, and hes sick of the assumption hes gone. So with that pressure on our board why would they turn around and let him go for pence and a player? Stanley did us pretty well, but that was under Buckle, and as Lingy showed when he said no to Branston, hes his own man, he wants his own team, and he won't compromise Eunan for someone elses choice of player.
If it is a cash + player deal, the only place hel be going is Swindon with Bodin coming the other way

Speakers!!!

Has anyone heard anything about a soundsystem to go with bristows bench? I'm assuming that will have speakers built in, and hope some face towards the popside! getting a bit sick of the 1920's cups on string on the pop. Something with a bit more ooomph would give the atmosphere a huge boost/ get everyone up for making some noise.

Re: Has O'Kane Gone Yet?

I think that the Rovers fans are getting a little bit too excited on their forum. Course they're a bigger club than us, but what Eunan is looking for is football opportunity at league 1 level, not just a bigger ground. Other teams seem to assume that he's not happy here, and I think the way he dealt with Crawley shows that to be rubbish. just a look on twitter at the moment shows that we have the tightest group of footballers (as well as mates), that we have had at the club in years, and thats got to count for something. Any job is as much about the guys you are working with as the task in hand. And we have quite a few legends down here atm!
